Chasing autumn vineyard colors with my camera

Every day I have been driving past vineyards on my way to the post office with no time to stop. The vineyards are turning all sorts of colors and I've wanted to capture them, so I decided to leave in early afternoon today and get pictures on my way home. I was very determined to make sure I got this view of Heart Hill before it the leaves fell off.
My adventure today was pretty tame. I walked up the hill behind the tasting room and around all the vineyards. That meant I climbed the hill on one side , walked across the back, and came down the hill on the other side nearest the side on which I was parked. I stopped to photograph a couple of other vineyards first, before I got to this one.
What was the most adventurous thing you did today?

I worked today. And that is not very adventurous! And there won't be anything too much for adventure today as it's freezing rain out right now....snow to start in a while. I think I'll just go up to my craft room and work on Christmas projects...and stay safe!

Hi bararad, that is a lovely picture. You have that gift for taking beautiful pictures. My day was doing errands for others. I have an uncle that I have to visit offen and I have a grandson that I have to pick up at daycare everyday. As for now that is what's taking up most of my days and time.

So now you are climbing hills! You Go girl! The only thing I did was go up in the attic alone and found a shelf and bought and assembled a new vacuum!

I know the photo is real, but it is so perfect that it actually looks fake. Nature is an awesome thing. No one can every recreate something that perfect. I like this picture, it's something I could stare at for a while. Thanks for this.

I have not even retouched the photo. I had never seen it so mulitcolored until this year. They must have planted a different variety of grapes on each side of the heart of oak trees so that in autumn one side would remain more yellow as the other turned reddish. You can see why I had to get the photo, because I don't know if it will be the same next year. It's possible that it only behaves this way when the nights or days are a certain temperature. I know harvest is late this year in many of the vineyards.

No, you are probably normal. I'm only up for tame adventures of the non-dangerous type. And danger is purely accidental. I learn a lot by taking pictures of the same things at different seasons of the year. I have figured out I must be an amateur naturalist.

My most adventurous thing I did today was provide childcare for two preschoolers, one 3 and the other 2.. They're both very cute! One is my grand daughter, and she's in a stage where she's a handful! They both love to dance.. other than that, last night I had to take the pick up truck and go pick up out pubescent male dog who ran off across the fields to some friends of ours, he ran off right when I was outside with him for his last time out for the evening. The little brat ran off because I couldn't see him, so I guess tonight he'll have to do his business at the end of his leash! That's it! The adventure in my life some days! I'm not saying I never have real adventures however as I have friends I get together with and we get a little adventurous, but not much these days.

I had a friend who used to tell us unbelievable stories of his antics as a truck driver. I still don't see how he got by with some of those thing, like leading a bunch of other trucks on entering a freeway in the Boston area backwards up an offramp because they couldn't find the onramp. The reason I believe this is because of some things I saw with my own eyes I'd never believe anyone would do.

The only real excitement was trying to get to get the cat inside, but we gave up and went shopping. I do not like people following me, so I was moving quickly when someone came up behind me. We had coffee, so it was a rather normal day. I was talking about how much I would love a cruise and wondering whether I could use some airmles for the cruise, but I guess it is just for the plane ride. So not much excitement there. And certainly no adventure.

Getting a cat to do anything it doesn't want to do is an adventure in every sense of the word. I suppose you've read that piece that circulates on the internet from time to time on how to give a cat a bath? I'd post the link, but I don't remember where I saw it. I do remember laughing myself sick, though. Hope you get to take your cruise someday.

I suppose getting ready for Christmas is an adventure. The most adventurous part of our Christmas preparations is driving the freeway over 200 miles through Los Angeles and Orange Counties to get to Tustin to visit my brother.

I've had a few adventures of that type myself. Different denominations have different types of services for sure, but most share the same core beliefs and partake of the same Spirit. Sometimes a different worship style can be refreshing. It might be interesting to compare notes.

First of all, I have to say that the picture that you've shared is absolutely breathtaking and I'm glad that you were able to capture such a special photograph.
With that said, I didn't have any kind of adventure to embark on today mostly because of the fact that it has been rainy here and when it is rainy I really don't like to get out of the house.
I went to Wal-Mart and got a few things and since then I've simply been at home poking around on the computer.

I don't go out when it's rainy out either unless I have to. I do what you do -- stay inside and work on the computer. I can have enough adventures when it's not raining out.

My husband took me out in the country (believe that by an ocean) and we found a new lake. Colors were actually turning which we do not see much of in florida it was a beautiful day!
Thanks for sharing I miss my home state of Missouri it was breathtaking going down old route 66 in the fall.

I was in St. Louis once in July, and it was very hot. I think that's only part of the state where we actually got out of the car. The young man with us wanted to see the arch, so I went in with him. my husband couldn't walk that far then, so he went to a McDonald's (I think) on a riverboat while Tim and I explored the inside of the arch. I wish I'd seen it a few months later, instead, outside the urban area, because I believe I would have fonder memories. I don't much like any big city. At least you have fond memories of your former home. I'm glad you found your lake.

I must confess there are days I get up very late and don't get dressed until afternoon. In fact, on one rainy day last weekend, I did not get dressed at all since, my PJs and robe are the warmest thing I own. I didn't have many adventures myself that day.

You hav had a great day. There's nothing adventurous I had but it's agreat day anyway. I brought my kids to my office. They had fun playing on the computer. One even gave toys to them and they were very happy. The most interesting, is that, we were together!

Parenting itself is a great adventure, and every day with your children is part of it. Some days are calm and happy, and others can be quite traumatic. What matters is hanging on for the entire time.

Wow! you did a great job
, that picture is beautiful.
The most adventurous thing I did was to ride in one of the rides of Bush Garden, adventure park. tha was tremdous, it put my feet up, and then suddenly my head down like if I would fall in a river that was near and everything in a speedy velocity, it a great adventure but I am sure that I am not going to do it again.

Rosa, that's too exciting an adventure for me. I think I'd better stick to walking up hills in safe vineyards.
