What type of music do you think is good for studying or relaxation?

I like when I study and there's a nice peaceful song on the radio that calms me, and makes me to study better or helps soothe me. Especially when I take tests and that relaxing kind of music just helps me to be focused. So what type of music or genre of music do you think is good for studying or relaxation? How does that type make you feel when you listen to it?

The type of music I alwasy find so relaxing and refreshing is the classical music, Mozart, Chopin, Brahms, Johan Strauss, Beethoven, and more. I keep a collection of CDs of classical music, and I listen to them in the evenings after I get back home from my work. Very relaxing indeed. You might want to try that too.

If I'm attempting to study or relax, I listen too either reggae or hip hop! Reggae makes me very calm and serene! It also assists me with removing stress from the day and also it helps me to calm down and to become at ease with my surroundings! If I want to be productive (studying), I may listen to some soft-core hip hop or some R&B to get my mind focused and anticipated to cover the material! The only instance when I don't listen to music is when I'm trying to read or memorize certain things as it is hard not to sing along to my favorite songs! Singing along and reading is so hard to do, it's like mutli-multi-tasking!

Oh,cool! But that's kind of the other way around for me. When I listen to reggae or hip hop I feel like dancing instead of studying. I get the same effect with R&B or hip hop.

I would think peaceful music but then maybe it depends on what sort of music you like and inspires you, just a matter of a persons own taste I guess.

Yeah, we all have different tastes and it mainly has to deal with that.

For me I listen to the songs that I like when I would study...so that includes rock to my playlist. lol. It actually depends on what type of music you like listening to. Goodluck!

You can find really good music for relaxation online.Sometimes I use it when I do yoga and want to relax even more.Try listening to nature sounds like waterfalls or rainfall or wind sound...that's something I find really peaceful and calming. If you haven't heard it before you should really do it.Happy relaxing! :)

That's what I find really calming as well. It's so gentle and smooth that I just start smiling for some reason.

For me, a good music to listen while you are studying is some music that has a good mellow, not that screamy, not the fast-phased, so as not a slow-phased track. Just a simple amount of rhythm that’s soothes you mood in concentrating to what you are reading/studying. A song that is quite catchy but at the same time soothing that doesn't makes someone sleep and it's not that too much upbeat because it will distract your study. __

For studying the best kind of music would be anything that is not too intrusive as I see it, because a lot of concentration is required in study, and any music can be distracting in my view: instrumental music might be preferable, such as a beautiful piece of Classical music, because I can't help thinking the singing of lyrics could interfere with pure concentration. I may be wrong. And of course it depends on the individual. When I am concentrating, such as when I'm writing, I don't want any distractions, and will work without music. On the other hand, when I'm doing chores or whatever about the house, music can be a great spur. For relaxation, I prefer to watch a movie than listen to music. Sometimes I'll relax by dancing in my room to music; that makes me feel good; and Soul or Disco music is excellent for that...music combining a great beat and beautiful melody can't be beat for a relaxing mildy euphoric feeling. Ballads too; although listening to a ballad can be an "event"...cathartic rather than relaxing.

I hate to sit in silence, so this means that I always have to have some kind of music playing whilst I am working. I work from home, and have a little office, and I love to be able to put some music on to be able to listen to while I am writing my articles. However, if I am revising for an exam, I can't listen to music which has lyrics alongside it, as I find that I am completely unable to concentrate on the work if I do this, because I just end up singing along to the song instead of concentrating on whatever it was that I was supposed to be doing.

Smooth jazz is the most relaxing music to me. I dont know what kind of music makes me more calm than that. Even when I play the game street fighter the jazz that capcom puts in the game could put me sound asleep.

I don't have a favorite genre of music but when it comes to studying I like to have a nice, peaceful song on. I especially like having an instrumental song or orchestral piece since there aren't any words that would distract me.

I'm a little weird about this because I see that a lot of you listens to calm, relaxing music..Me? No. I listen to schranz ( hard techno music) or some hard Drum n Bass..I know it's strange but it really helps me to concentrate and study.

Most often i like spiritual and love instrumental music. My prospective for studying is different. I need a little a mixture of noise and silence that not too much noise and not to much silence. I usually don't prefer to listen to music when studying it just makes me little disturbed. That's just my opinion it may differ according to persons who find it comfortable to study. Music plays a great role in calming the mind, whether a person is depressed or he/she is not able to concentrate music plays a great role. When i come from office at night after my dinner i normally listen to these songs. So concluding on the topic i would say according to me its not a good idea to study with music.

hello nat77012, most often, i just listen to the songs that are already saved in my playlists. and these are combinations of different genre. with those listings, i cannot pin-point a music that can bring me the exact relaxation. but one thing is for sure, since it is on my playlists then it is one of the best music that i loved hearing whenever i want to perceive a sound.

For studying or relaxatio, I would like to recommend the soft and lyric songs or some soft pure music. I usually listen to them as background music in night. Also, I think they are good for sleeping. Hope this can help.
