mind. My favorite one was, "Have a cool yule." Wouldn't it be funny if there was no "L' in Noel? The funniest Christmas card I ever got was a picture of the Scooby-Do gang decorating a Tree and then "Oh, Oh, watch out." and on the inside was the tree, the people, the decorations all in a heap and all tangled up. Something like, "We're all tied up in the Christmas spirit. Hope you have a good one."
When I wanted to send a friend a Solstice card, I made one. It was all black with white writing on it. I made a snowman and a hill all in white. It really stood out. "May the longest night be peaceful, happy, and meditative for you."
So what are some neat things that were written in cards or pictures on cards for this time of year? Have you received, sent, or made any cards that you remember well? Some of the sayings and cards are very memorable. Which ones do you remember?

I don't remember any funny ones but I have sent some nice ones in my day. My grandmother used to cut up the nicer vintage ones and save them for name tags. I sent my great grandson a Hallmark one with music and my voice. I enjoy the old Currier and Ives with sleighs and lots of people roaming around.

I bet the ones with your voice were really nice. I should think about sending one of those, too. Thanks for the idea and take care.

I really don't get many memorable cards. It seems so many people just buy the simple ones now-a-days. I like to make my cards either with shutterfly or by hand, so I can include pictures. Now that is what makes a card memorable to me - I love receiving pictures! One year my friends went to Europe and their Christmas card was a picture of them in each country and it said "Merry Christmas" in whatever language for that country. That was pretty neat.
This year I'm lazy - I am using store bought cards that I have had for awhile and tossing in a 4x6 of my daughter with Santa. I'm just not in the mood to order cards online this year or spend too much time making them because the past few years we haven't been getting as many back.

I don't think I have gotten any memorable cards, not so much as what they said but what was on the card. The pictures are what I like to look at. I would like the Europe Christmas card, that would be kind of cool.

I did get a card with a Mom, Dad, and dog before. They had made their family picture into a Christmas card with a tree. That was really nice.I wish more people would send pictures of their familes. Esp. now that with this economy, so many people have mosed away. Thanks for helping me to remember that. Take care.

I think my most memorable cards with cute sayings have been for birthdays. MY girls usually get me pretty cards with meaningful sayings...when I take them to pick one out for their dad...I always push for the ones that say stuff like...well...your not a lot smarter but at least your one year older
I wonder if he knows I persuade their choices.

You're funny! There are some great birthday ones out there. Esp. the ones that teese people about their ages or have beefcake guys on the front. I bought one for a friend. It was cute.
