parking domain

So I thought I might do that.. maybe. I've heard it can generate a good lil income. You know those parked domains with just ads on them, popular keyword / search terms.. but then I thought "really? That may not make very much money!." I just thought it'd be something I wouldn't have to keep up that I could have some more spending money from. I do want to learn more about graphics and create little cute graphics to sale, but I'm thinking maybe that isn't as popular as it was years ago. What do you think? My job pays me well enough but it doesn't hurt to have a little extra.
