Items in your handbag (ladies) pocket (gentlemen)

I was sorting my handbag out this morning when I came across my husband's inhaler, it got me wondering if any other mylotters carry or look after items that belong to other members of the family in there handbags or pockets? I look after my husband's inhaler as he doesn't need it hardly at all just when he comes into close contact with dogs (when we haven't been in the company of dogs for a long time) he gets a little wheezee and needs a puff. Hence I keep it in my handbag as I always have my bag with me in these events. A while back when I was sorting my bag out and found it I thought I should put his name on it, as I don't need an inhaler and had this sudden dark thought that if I was involed in an accident, people would automatically think it would be my inhaler and may try and use it for me.... I had this picture in my head of people trying to help me by giving me the inhaler and me fighting against it as I would be the only one to know that it wasn't mine! Bit morbid I know but these things happen. The inhaler is the only item I carry in my handbag that doesn't belong to me. So what about your handbags ladies, and because I didn't want ot leave you lovley gentlemen out I have included your pockets, because I'm just so nice!!!LOL Hee Hee

I wish I got my wife to answer this herself! I tend to get sudden, unannounced bouts of sneezing at times when we are away from home. And there is one thing that works magic: a special balm, the Tiger Balm. She always reckons I might get one any time. So one unforgettable adjunct in her purse always is Tiger Balm. It works really magical for me somehow.

man bags don't count? i have one because sometimes i bring an umbrella and i put my other stuff in it like my psp my wallet, and my cellphone. but if i don't bring a man bag i have my keys, wallet, cellphone, and a handkerchief inside of my pockets. women really take care of themselves and have alot of stuff in their handbags. No wonder alot of women carry big or lets say medium sized handbags.

I only carry my own things unless I am with someone who doesn't want to carry a phone or something and I'll stick it in my purse to carry for them.....like when my DIL and I go shopping she doesn't carry anything but a wallet and her phone. I'll just put it in mine for her then.....I carry too much stuff. One day I emptied the change out of it and had over $8.00 in there...it was so much lighter after I emptied it! LOL

I keep almost everything in my purse. If I could take my head off and stick it in there I would. I keep all of my cosmetics in there of course. I have my wallet, keys, money, change, receipts, lighters, advils, coupons, and everything else in there. It is so much to name.

I carry my roommate's credit card and medical credit card, because she almost never goes anywhere without me, since she can't drive, and I sometimes pick up stuff for her while I'm out.

I noticed many years ago that some men for whatever reason think they have some sort of responsibility to look after a woman's handbag. This annoyed me, so I quite carrying one. When I did, a lot of different men asked me how I was going to carry stuff. That is when it dawned on me that a lot of the stuff I used to put in my bag wasn't really for me, but for the convenience of other people. So I quite doing that. I bought some women's clothes with pockets and even sewed pockets inside some of my clothes that didn't come with pockets. I found that I could indeed carry everything I needed for myself in just a few pockets. A couple facial tissues, a narrow lip gloss, one key (rest of them in the trunk of my car), driver's license, one credit card, and a $20 bill. Then I found that men in restaurants and other public places, complete strangers, would accost me to inform me that I had left my handbag. What!!!??? Were they really trying to be that helpful? Or were they trying to be controlling? Why? Obviously people caring for small children or infirm elderly need to carry some sort of bag, but the rest of us really do have a choice. I love the freedom!

Every last one of my handbags seems to be a garbage receptacle for my children! It drives me crazy but I am used to candy wrappers, and unwanted papers or used tissues. Whenever I need something I have to dig through my purse to get to it lol

I would hope that other family members would tell them you aren't the one using it. It would be a good idea to put your Hubbie's name on it. I don't have anything like this. I do however have a one days pill supply for my grandson incase I need it if I am watching him for some reason.

Four days later and yes its me!!!! Been a bit slow in chasing you about on here, but never mind. Doubt the children would know that it wasn't mine, but I put his name on it as I thought what about if I was out on my own and something happened

My van is out in the shop, and I had to walk to work today so I had to double up on my coat as it's cold out. When I was starting to wear my coats, I realize there are items in the pockets that I have been holding on for my kids. There was an action figure on one pocket, and a half eaten sandwich on another! The sandwich is a few days old.
@Anne18 (11029)
12 Dec 11
Did you get peckish? Was the sandwich good enough for a niddle. Have you a white van? Hope you put your gloves on? I went ot the supermarket today, in the car, had my winter coat on as the car was cold!! So were my hands!!!

Does a diaper bag count as a handbag because I haven't been able to use a handbag in almost a year. So I carry everything for my daughter in her diaper bag as well as a dew things for me. Mostly my wallet and lip balm some times checks for the bank.
@Anne18 (11029)

Yes a diaper bag does count. When my three children were young I gave up with a hangbag and shared there bag, so much easier

Years ago when the kids were small my purse was a catch all for all sorts of things. Hair ribbons, match box toys, wipes and so on. Now that they are all grown my purse has very little in it to carry around. Less is better for the neck and shoulders. I just carry the necessities with me. On occasion when we go out shopping I do hold onto my husbands keys instead of him cramming them into a pocket and being uncomfortable. If we go on a long rode trip he hands me his wallet to hold so not to sit on it for hours during the ride. My husband will place coupons in his wallet when we go food shopping because it is easier to pull out compared to being lose in my purse. But usually he just carries what is necessary and nothing personal of mine except a photo. Have a great day!

Most of the time I do not carry a purse, at all, and have what I need in my pocket.......driver's license, various insurance cards, debit card, gas credit card, money.......etc. I do remember when my kids were younger, I would carry a huge bag and have all their things in it, from diapers and wipes, to toys and changes of clothes. I also carried more "me" things.........paper and pen, pictures, even scissors and safety pins!

As less as possible I don't like to carry it around with me. So drivers license, ID, wallet (if I don't forget to put it in), cellphone (if I don't forget to put it in) and the cards of the swimming pool for my kids. Sometimes my keys as well. That is it.
