I am waiting for the project

I am waiting for the project to work at the office. But I have waited one month plus there is no call for me to come back to the office to do the work. My company is a market research company. They have a break gap which usually one month plus. I feel that I now is boring. Do I need to find another part time job or should I earn at home while waiting?

there is never anything wrong with looking for another job! at the end of the day you may end of finding a part time job, earning some decent money, and maybe even being able to go full time there and finding something you really enjoy. it never costs to look. and while you are online applying for jobs, you could be earning online as well :)

Like some of the responses, you should look for something call 'back-up' plan. You should look for a steady or consistent employment. I think I have said this before. While you wait for whether this company would call you for work, you should look for alternatives. You could look for a different job and look for income earning opportunities.

I think you are right! Whenever one engage in seasonal job, he or she should always have backup plan so that when the job stop, another one will replace for the income.

Oh wow, if I was working a job that only had part time and/or seasonal type of work like that, then I would definitely have another part time job that I would work as well. In fact, almost ten years ago when I was pregnant with my daughter, I was working a full-time seasonal job and a part-time seasonal job all at the same time. It certainly wore me out, but I really did love both of the jobs that I had at the time.

Yes I am wanting to take up another part time job but don't know where to go. I have read newspaper but there is no job like at home job. So the final decision is to work at home while waiting for the market research company to call me up.

Yes, look for another part time job plus continue to earn at home. Don't waste your time just waiting. Time is money, and it waits for no man, nor woman. Afterall, why entertain boredom? Press on, choiyee.

hello wongchoiyee, As its been over a month now, tt might be worth contacting them and asking them when you will get the next project, rather than just waiting, as that makes you seem keen. but after waiting a month if I were you I might start looking for another job, as you seem to have quite enjoyed the market research, it might be worth looking for a job with a more reliable company.

Yes I enjoy in market research company as you said because they offer flexible hours working time so that I can adjust my own time like I am my own boss.

Hi ChoiYee, If I were you, I will not wait for a month without doing anything. A month break is too long without extra income, you can always look for another part time job first while waiting for them to call. If you worried that you might need to stop you other part time job suddenly, you can also look for part time job that require you to only work at night.
