My baby is turning 6 months soon and she can now start solid food. I'm so excited for this new event on her life. In fact, I'm starting to search the web for the nutritious first food that i can give to her. And i'm surprised that there's a lot to offer. I don't want to give much cereals that i can just buy on grocery stores, i want fresh fruits, vegetables or cereals. Oh, i can't wait to make purees :) '

hi friend, congratulations! After six months, you can give whatever food you eat to the baby as well. Basically all home cooked food can be given in such a way the baby can digest. I have two children of 14 & 10 and my doctor used to advise this and additionally i gave them boiled vegetables mashed, porridge and rice with clarified butter etc. Also you can feed her a tea spoon of honey in the 7-8 months when she gets her first tooth, honey will help her to lessen the teething problems. Enjoy your motherhood!

Congratulations! I was like you when my baby was about to turn 6 months old. The first semi solid food that we gave him was carrot. He is now 7 months and 2 weeks old. I'm now excited to feed him meat, we are just waiting for his pedia's go signal. I know he would like it.

Hi, my baby is now 7 months and i already gave her meat and other veggies. Our pedia said that i can now let her eat egg, but i'm afraid that my baby might get allergies from it so im not giving it yet.

My baby's pediatrician doesn't allow my baby to eat egg either and also shrimp. He is 9 months now. He can eat chicken, french fries and spaghetti now. He is fast becoming a toddler.

Sounds very exciting! It's a new step for you and your baby, and it's always exciting to go through that, and such. Although I haven't gone through it yet, I can certainly understand how that may be exciting for you, as I have a 3 week old little baby girl.

THis is an exciting time for the baby and for you. I remember when I started foods with my daughter. Back then there was a baby food called Blueberry Buckle. It was so good. I would have alittle each time i fed it to my daughter. She loved it. I loved it. I am sure there are alot of different ones now days.

I remember when I also need to give my first child the first solid food. I did not give her cereals- but mashed potato and she really liked it. Then, I started giving her fruits too. So, with my second and youngest kid- I never gave or tried any cereals from groceries. Yes, fresh fruits and veggies are better

Wow that's good to know. But with as much as i wanted to do that, i don't have much time to prepare so sometimes i feel guilty when i give cereals to her.

Kids milestones are always so exciting and bring happiness to parents whether its eating , walking, talking, running anything. It feels so good to see the child starting or learning something new.

hello, Ohh? maybe it is your first baby that is why you are so excited. I dont have a baby yet because I am still studying. But I like children and I love playing with them because they are so innocent when I am talking to them. Yeah, it is much better if you search something for good and healthy food for your baby. good luck to you!
