I think a picture frame is a good gift. It really depends on the person you are buying for. If they are in a retirement center maybe some toiletries. I am really becomeing appreciative of gift cards. You can get them anywhere and they can really help out for a lunch or buying larger ticket items.

Picture frame is nice.I guess you can give a key chain with name on it or a handkerchief. It is always the thoughts that counts. It is nice that you remember them and had an effort to buy and give them gifts.

You could knit or crochet some scarf or hat, it wouldn't take too much time and money and would be beautiful gift. Also you can make some coloring books - if for kids then on online you can find thousand of free coloring pages, which you can print and mix as you like. If for adults, nice gift would be coloring pages with mandalas. From my experience people are very exalted and amazed for such a gift! If you want something else, you can make different kind blocks, notebooks or diaries. For making them you will need simple and cheap notebook, which you can buy in every supermarket. And then switch on your imagination and decorate the cover - you can glue the cover with different paper and draw something on it, or cover it with nice fabric, or felt and make felt art on it. For family members or close friends you can make photo album or calendar with personalized photos, which would be not only nice and cheap gift, but also very great and loving moment of memories. I hope that some of my suggestions will seem useful! Have a great giving fest!

We have gotten the cute tins or dishes or plates at the dollar store, made cookies or other baked goods or some other special recipe, filled the tins, etc. with them and given them as gifts. In fact, that is two gifts in one, because the tins or dishes/plates are cute and reusable as well as the real gift of the baked goods or special recipe food.

How about some home baked cookies in cute cookie jars? In that way, they can eat the cookies and recycle the containers. Right now we are doing some picture collage for some friends.Just have to look around later for someplace to have this printed and framed. I also have this treasured gift which was a plain white frame with written greetings all around it with my picture right on top. This was worth more than any gifts that I received then.
