Hello Wongchoiyee, Christmas is usually spent on one day. but in the Philippines, CHristmas season starts in either September or OCtober. People would buy a lot of stuff in advance . then, we have this nine day mass in the church. i think today is the last of that night mass and people were having so much fun

in addition to what LetranKnight said, here in the Philippines you can actual see Christmas decors as early as October :) and in some places, Christmas Carolers already start their thing on October aswell. I am not really sure, but We have the longest celebration of Christmas

My house we put up lights and play music, so it feels like many days of Christmas. Gifts are opened on Christmas Day. We watch Christmas shows and movies all month.

Just one day is givenhere in the USA, but because it's on Sunday this year and most people would be off anyway, many businesses are giving Monday also. This is a large Christian country even though we have freedom of religion here.

In the USA it is usually one day, but people shop before Christmas (usually around Thanksgiving) and in my family we have a family dinner on both Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. My sister always gets Christmas Eve off and cooks dinner (she lets her children ages 9 and 6 help out) and then at night we will be doing wrapping presents. My husband and I exchange one gift on Christmas Eve (this is a tradition on his side of the family).

Calendar wise, Christmas day is set on December 25th. As far as Christmas celebration, it depends on different families, countries, and cultures. In the US, people may celebrate it as much as they want. Typically, families who celebrate it would do it just one day by having friends and family in their home. They would have dinner and get together while watching football and other things. Prior to the actual Christmas day (the 25th), different individuals would have Christmas celebration with their school, their company, and their organizations. Some people may have Christmas party in their home before the 25th. You mentioned that you live in Malaysia. Growing up in a Muslim country myself, Christmas seems like a one-day affair. I went to Christian school, so I was able to have Christmas break for about two weeks compared to those that go to non-Christian schools. As far as work, whether you live in a Muslim country, in the US, or any other countries, business always seem to resume as usual. Some people may go on vacation, while some continues to work in between.
