Christmas Parties

This year I baked so much goodies that now I still have a lot left over. We had our usual Annual Holiday Pig-Out Fest party the Friday befor Christmas Day and only ten people showed up. So I had lots of goodies to take over to my husband's cousin's party last night. They didn't eat very much of my sweets though as they really filled up on Kentucky Fried Chicken and chinese food. But some of the men ate handfuls of my cookies, which is good.
My husband had a friend confide in him (she came to our party on the 23rd) she said that her and her husband doesn't like hosting parties because people would make excuses or simply not show up. I know it doesn't deter me, but I always thought people liked to party over the holiday season. Mind you, there wasn't any alcohol served at our party, either......
Do you guys also have trouble getting people to show up at your home parties over the holiday season?

Maybe they're afraid if they say no they'll hurt the inviter's feelings or something. Still I'd rather people tell me the truth. 2 people did tell me they were sorry they coldn't make it last night and such, and it was fine with me, they were considerate.

I always have a day out with the orphans. I take them out each Christmas and this time I took them to a place where they had the opportunity to have fun in a park, eat at a nice place, visit a museum and a planetarium. They were 81 of them.
I tried to place an image of the orphans but I have had trouble uploading it.

I do not have parties. We go spend time with family and it is always pretty informal. I did not do a lot of baking this year as I am trying to improve what I am eating.

My parents don't usually have parties at our flat. However, we like to have parties at my grandparents'. On the 24th, I think most of my relatives have gone to my grandparents' flat for the christmas party. Most food is usually made by my grandparents while some are ordered outside like pizza. It was a pity that I could not join the party as I have missed the delicious food and could not see my lovely relatives.

Oh, that sounds lovely! I think your grandparents love to show off their baking as well!
Hehe that's what I do anyway! So sorry you couldn't make it to their party this year, but perhaps next year.
Or you came come to our flat and eat up my leftover goodies for me! Lots of'em left!
