May be they too need a chance to prove their patriotism to their nation. I feel they would be good choice and can be well trained. Comparing to man on physical side I feel they lack a bit. But this too could be over come if they are given the required training. May be there should the stability of mind that shows humanity side to the citizens of own country. It is known that women can be made talented spies if trained well. Nowadays more and more women bodyguards are getting demand especially for those high class escorts to women and children. May be soon the majority of women will increase in armies. As it is mostly seen that, there are very less in most nations.

Nowadays, I see many women acting as security guards or member of the police and they rock as a whole. I quite agree that stable mind is required and there are women police whose relative is also a police which makes me think it runs down the family like other professions. I would love to see a woman defend herself beautifully but I guess every one will have to think twice messing with a woman officer.

Hi Shanrack! I think that women are becoming more noticed in this department now than ever before. Obviously there is a huge difference in a man and a woman...the physical side being one of those traits..but I agree that with training and desire...a woman can be quite an asset. I remember my grandfather saying that a woman could be one of the most efficient weapons an army had. He said there was the fact they would be underestimated and that they were very calculating.

I don’t think women in the army is a good idea. Let us be practical and keep in mind that women prisoners are tortured in different ways than male prisoners and that makes a huge difference. Throughout history, women prisoners have most commonly been raped in order to break their spirit and complete a sense of victory on part of the victorious. Every time marauding armies captured homes and women, they raped the women as a symbol of enforcing their complete hold on the vanquished. Men prisoners are not treated that way…even if they are decapitated, that is considered more respectful than to be raped by the opponent army and carrying an illegal unwanted baby.

Yes, that is what I am trying to say…treatment of men and women are different..captured women, whether military or civilian are almost always raped…men (the beast that they are) seem to think that is the only way of stamping their superiority over women.

This question have raised when women joined in army here. But the training would help them to withstand such tourtures this what the trainers informed. Moreover there are societies that would object such actives if happend in the international level, as it is against war rules.

I'm not completely against or for it. There are a couple reasons I think a woman should not do these things. I apply that same reason to men as well, but I'll not go into that here as I don't want a misunderstanding. As I said, I don't completely disagree with it. Besides that women in battle isn't a new thing. I suggest to anyone thinking "It can't be done. They're too weak" read up on women warriors in history. There were some bad @$$ women. If it could be done then, it can be done now.

I do believe that women can be useful in the military. But, in the u.s, women aren't allowed to do certain jobs in the military, mainly combat and infantry jobs. They usually let their emotions dictate what they do and if a child came up to them with a grenade, they would hesitate in shooting the kid because of motherly instinct. Unfortunately, that could get a women killed if she had a combat job. Even though they're not ideal for those jobs, maybe they'd be good as a bodyguard for a kid since they get protective. But then again, a lot of times a man can overpower a woman because of their strength. I'm a girl so I'm not trying to say women are weak, I'm just thinking realistically. But there are some women who are just plain tough and can do anything.

Women of now can do anything, they do not need to prove them any more. They are mentally , emotionally as well as physically strong. Just with a little assistance and training women can lead the role of bodyguards, in army very sincerely, truthfully and give their best.

Personally being a Body guard do require a lot of knowledge, skill and work. I used to be Security to where I had to protect people and keep them from running away, etc. and personally it was hard work. I know for me it was something I did not really feel adequate with, and personally this is something that I guess is each women's decision. As this often puts them at more risk it can limit sometimes the amount of people they can ever get for these positions for sure.

If I am not mistaken everyone is allowed to be so regardless the gender. We have men and women in army as bodyguards etc but just a few numbers of women not because they are not allowed to be but they are just a few of them who wanted to be so. I am fine with women in that fields but the risk may be differ than men. So to have them in emergency case is much better.

I also think that women is physically less fit than men but under certain circumstances, a woman bodyguard might be more prefered. For example, if the person going to be protected is a woman.

hello, Women are the best but I am not telling that man wasn't. right? But nowadays because of the situation of being single of the women they are push to take all the responsibility in their children that is why they got all the job and they put there best into it. Women can do anything depends on the calls of situation. Proud of it.

Back in the olden days, women had no special rights and women lived within a male dominate society which wasn't very great at all. There needs to be more girl power! Even today, there are still stereotypes of women being weaker than men physically and mentally. Maybe not on the physical side but surely, we can match or even beat them in terms of intelligence. I would like to see more women doing the typical men's jobs. I remember seeing on the news about a navy woman who was publicly humiliated by another fellow male navy officer. He posted pictures of her and pretty boasted to everyone about her in terms of her performance in the bedroom with him. She got so upset and she brought this up to the police and the navy leaders. At first, even the navy leaders didn't do much about it but due to her will power, it got out all over the news and the guy was sent to prison. Because of this women have been scared to join the army and navy. Some men can be pretty cruel and nasty and women may feel insecure. But women should really stand up and take down those guys in the arm! Girl power!

shamrack your thought is really gud as in todays world women are almost equally standing on every front with men. and as you said the physical weakness can be overcomed by training but what about the society thing..where you are alone and the whole lot of society is standing against you.even today in many of the societies women are considered weak and about taking a war on the front... ???even today when it comes to their own daughters and wives and daughter in laws no one want them to be in defence..n this i m saying on my personal experience as one of my acquaintance is in defence and her parents are unable to find any gud match fr her and the main problem is her defence job..now what? i m n indian.in our nation the women were not having permanent job in defence and it is from the last year an amendment came where in they r having same policies like men.

I too live in India, but I feel we do have traditional and cultural background that is put in confusions and supertitions. I could see the society here is a colash of various culture, we attained freedom through various types of agitations from various leaders..... I feel women too have their platforms now, rise up and fight for your rights...India I feel is place where we get justice if we fight for it and even justice is denied...but there should be someone to give a starting...changes will and should occure it a part of society.

As a non violent person I cannot understand the desire to serve in this way but some women like it. They are capable but I think the world would be a better place if no one had an army and was violent. Since this is unlikely to occur I wonder where all this violence will lead. Maybe one day we will learn not to fight anyone.

I have worked with many women in the military. They bring a definitely female dimension to soldiering, one founded in compassion, gentleness and greater emotional quotient until they get riled. Then you should head for the hills!
