Thane cyclone has been bringing heavy rain in Tamil Nadu since yesterday. Today college and schools declared holidays . Now cyclone is crossing Cuddalore coast and is bringing very heavy waves. mylot friends in that area or nearby we can only pray for the safety of people living there. In Chennai also throughout yesterday night it was raining. We get very high waves in the sea now. In some places like Pattinapakkam water has come on to the road.

I do not recognize the names of the places you are talking about. I have heard of flooding in the Philippines. Is this the same area?

Thank you for clearing that up for me. This year has surely been plagued by bad weather and natural disasters. I sure hope we get some calmer times in 2012.

Nowadays there are many catastrophe in the world. It seems that nobody is free from that. You're right, we have only to pray and to have faith. God bless your folks and I hope they don't suffer irreparable damages.

Have not been able to watch the news today. My DTH has been giving me a lot of trouble since last night. May be because of the bad weather. Hope you and all the other mylotters are safe.

I hope everyone will be safe. I can't imagine living close to a coast with high seas you can't escape. In my prayers. Best Wishes

Sea is nearly 1 1/2 km from our house. Luckily sea tides did not rise more and we are not affected.
