PLEASE ADVISE... what is a ninny?

This old bird called me a ninny today? what is that?? I felt like pulling her by the blue bun she had atop her head, as she yelled at me swinging her arm towards me.... but i respect my elders.... she caught me off calling me a name i couldnt respond to because i didnt know the meaning..I feel silly....I will probably think about this mystery until someone can clarify the meaning. I'm not sure if she would have even called me that if I didnt grab her handbag and run off... please advise.

Ninny is an abreviation of nincompoop (sp?)which means exactly what the above posters have said
