What you could try, is take a photo when you were on a good weight, stick it on the fridge, and before opening the fridge to eat or nibble, look at the photo and say to yourself NO, you want to look like that again. Or, sign up at the gym and shake off what you eat, it works for me, maybe it can work for you :-)

ha ha ha.....your idea is also nice and I think that it will work.....but since I am not very very fat(thank God).......I may even skip that saying.....oh little extra eating is not so bad.... Yes what will really work is that I should put picture of very very fat person on the fridge and that will remind me to be careful for future.......good idea... Thanks Annrose.

Hahah. Karin27, your commet were so funny! Hi Apsara60! Why not trying the other way around? Sticking your picture when you were that fat in the fridge. There you will see your own self with all that fats around you. And the moment you open that fridge, you can imagine the fats that you had in that picture will multiply! Then you would think that you should not be like that in the future. I am sure you will not dare open the fridge again!

Hi, APSARA60 Just like you I can not stop eating. I have a good appetite and I love to eat and it mainly 'forbidden' foods that fattening. Glass of water before meals reduces the amount of food that you eat. But there is no way to completely eliminate your appetite.

Hi aps! You are very right those of us who are fond of eating food/other stuff, find it very difficult to go without food. I think food is essential for our body and if we avoid taking it, our body will not function properly. I also can not go on fasting for full one day. What you could do is - whenever you feel hunger pangs and you wish to avoid heavy (oil/fatty) food, you could take some seasonal fruits, roasted grams, roasted groundnuts, pop-corns, sweet corns, boiled vegetables or even green salad (if feasible). You could avoid taking snacks made of refined flour (maida) which creates problem in our digestion system. You could also avoid taking red meat and can instead replace is with white meat/fish. Reducing weight will also depend upon your body structure.

Hi deepak.......wow you really gave me some good choices.....you mean if I eat roasted grams, roasted groundnuts and pop-corns, then I will not put on weight, then I will really try that.....Red meat we don't eat at all.......yes it is difficult to avoid maida made things because we are use to eating them and they are tasty. But I will try to limit them tooThanks for your useful tips and suggestions.

If you apply my suggestions on regular basis, am sure you would surely be benefitted in the long run. Also, if possible, try to use Olive oil for cooking (though I know it is expensive than the normal refined oil, yet if you could afford to get it, you could try using it). Try to take snacks made of flour not refined flour and one good example is - wheat bread instead of normal bread/buns, which are made of refined flour. All the best.

I don't think that you have to eat less to loose weight.. you just need to burn more calories than you eat.. so you have to do some work that will burnout the calories that you eat.. eat food that has less of calories and eat right.. if you skip your meals then your body will try to save or preserve the energy which in turns makes you fat. So the best option to reduce your weight is to eat right and more workout.. but of luck..

I too agree with you.......you are absolutely right. Actually my job is sitting job from 8 to 5.....which can be one reason for not being able to lose weight. I do go for walks sometimes, but I think I should make it regularly. Now it is winter.......days are so short....will go for more walks from February when days be be bit longer. Thanks for your right advice.

Me too..actually I stopped eating sweets, and cakes. Reduced intake of rice ..i mean I dont eat rice at all in the nights. But that does not mean I skip my dinner. I eat two or three phulkas with a big serving of vegetables. Morning breakfast ..I have replaced oily upma with cornflakes and oats. Lost about 6 kgs in 6 months. Yogurt..that is the only thing I am continuing. I dont like calcium tablets. Moreover, I have this what we call mokku..I have to do 3000 pradakshinas if my wish comes true by this month end. That means in February I have to do all those pradakshinas. If my bones go weak right now I would be finished. So yogurt is something I am continuing and will discontinue after I have cleared those pradakshinas. :) That is the reason I am about 6 kgs overweight as yet..but as I said..it has something to do with my need not my liking for that. However, I dont think I will ever be able to stop eating pickles. :(

Thanks for you reply.

I know it is hard to do, but when you are really want to lose weight. You can ignore the hungry feeling of eating a appetite. If you stand for the idea, you can conquer yourself by ignoring it!

As i have watched in The Biggest Loser, Asia, you can eat yet not gain a pound if you compensate it with vigorous exercise. As to the eating lifestyle, you should eat lots of fruits and veggies. You can eat meat but in moderation. be always mobile. And most of all, exercise vigorously at least an hour a day.
