There is a new villan online foks. It is called "Game Over" and comes to you in the form of an email telling you that there is something wrong with your bank account. If you follow the link it harvests your login information and takes the money out of your account. Don't click on any link in emails. Your thoughts.

All we need is another online villain! It's no good to have to watch every little thing that gets sent to you..especially stuff that warns you of something wrong with your livelihood!
I'm glad you are making everyone aware! There are so many threats out there!

I usually get a letter from my bank if I have any problems. I also became aware from Paypal that they send a certain type of email and so then you can tell if it is a true communication from them. If I saw an email from my bank i would call them and not mess with the email at all.

Same here. If there is an issue, I always just call or go there. I had something come up that was a little weird last year. Someone had signed in to my account from New York..they didn't take anything..just signed in. My bank put a freeze on my account and contacted me right away. I had to change my password and bank account just to be in the safe side. They said they thought it was a key logging program.
It is sad we have to be so careful. Thank goodness they didn't take anything.

There are so many hackers are there sitting to stole information particluarly the banking details and get the amounts and rob the person. If we will not notice them them it would be hard. There are so many way by which they trap us. So a simple user who is not much know to internet will have to take care more than a advance user. THoug even advance user can get in net of thier trap. It hard to guess which legitimate.
just have to keep our self sfe by clever monitoring Thanksf that you inform and what you are doing is best

yes sadly it goes on every day. especially getting to those that are not savy to the internet and the tricks hackers use to steal your info. the long time internet users usually know about these things. having fallen into a trap at some point in the past. i never open anything like that from my email. i always go directly to my banks secure website and / paypal to check anything. I wish there was a way a new internet user could always be advised as soon as they start with internet use. @celticeagle (189833)

Thanks very much for the info. I hardly ever react in such messages, which usually goes to my spam folder, but there are people out there who might get really worry and try to do the wrong move, which will cost them unfortunately their own money.
I am glad you share this with us. We should be aware of all these spammers and hackers around us. This is a really threat and annoying at the same time.

If I didn't ask for it, I don't open it. If there is a problem with my account, then the bank will call me or it will just freeze my account and send me a letter. But it's good to keep reminding people.

oh been there and before I deleted i sent it to scam on bank of america and was thanked for calling their attention to the new
scam. I hope none of our mylotters fell for that as it looked
authentic but being very careful I contacted my bank on email and was told they do not send out those kinds of emails. they told me
to send them a copy then delete. but when I went to delete my
Mozilla informed me it was a scam and asked if I wanted it deleted which I did so that was over. I just do not fall for those as I know
they are all scams.I think whoever is doing this is just pure evil
as of course they will catch some people who may not be scam savvy or are fairly new on the computer. I think there are safe guards on most online banking sites too;hope so. but I never take one chance. so easy to delete anything that looks phony . safe too.

Celtice, thanks for starting this discussion. Indeed, we should be very careful with any email that we are receiving nowadays. Because there are so many types of hackers who are trying their best to get hold of our personal bank account info. As soon they are able to get hold of our personal account info, they will start to empty our account within seconds. That's why, we always heard on the news that many had fall trap into hackers hands and loss their money to them without them realizing it at all.

I've never heard of that one, but I already know that your bank would never send you an email, because email isn't very secure. They don't need your info because they're the ones who have it and why would they ask you for something they already have.
