Could it be that it is true?
My father-in-law actually 3 years younger than my mother-in-law, looks very much older than her. Maybe it’s because he is obese , consequently slow in movement, bent from the weight of his big tummy and much more gray haired than her.
But for me, I am more or less more than 5 years older than my husband. But people who sees us, says we do look of the same age. 
I may have more gray hairs than him, but I dye them . We both were able to maintain our being on the slim side. Though, he walks faster than me, since he has longer legs, I guess and I must admit, he has a younger body. 
But most of all, maybe because we have maintained our sense of humor and never let our age difference bother us at all.

I don't believe that at all. How could women get older then men faster? It's a lie. I have seen women in their 60's that look better then the men they are married to. Also I have seen older women that are hotter then some of the young ones. So, that could not be true.

Yes, inertia i agree with you on that.
Maybe it's because also , women are more vain than men so they really are so keen in maintaining their beauty and youth as much as they can. Besides, most have have vices such as smoking and drinking that speeds up their getting old in their looks and body.

Really your grandmother looks younger than her 87 years old age. Can you ask her please what are her eating habits and ways of maintaining a younger look. I really would like to know , so i could imitate her.

I will tell you why I don't believe in that. I have an aunt who is 87 years old. She looks no older then 65 and a good looking 65. She was a sun worshiper, but she held the test of time. I have seen women as old as her and younger look like they are ready to die. I guess all in all, it is in the genes.

Sense of humor that's one of the best things that can make a person look younger. My mom laughs often so at 50+ we both are mistaken to some as sisters. I feel it's offending to me coz it means I look old. But my mom will be delighted hearing that often coz she feels so young
And about the question, Yes I've heard that so many times. But that depends on how a woman takes care of herself. Like you, if you are happy and living a healthy life then you won't really look older than your hubby. Some women takes life so seriously and neglect their health. They don't trim down their weight after giving their birth thinking that they are already married. That is why they tend to look older than their hubby sometimes.

I totally agree with you enelym. It's music to our ears when we are told that we look younger than our actual age.
And as to those women who after giving birth doesn't bother to trim down their weight, tha is absolutely true.
Some women indeed neglects their weight. Don't they know that the more that they are married, the more that they should maintain their beauty, lest their husband will fall for sexy women. Thus, they indeed look older than their husbands.

Actually I have been seeing a lot of women who looks way older than their hubby. Sometimes I even think that the wife is the mother of the guy. I am talking about those young wives. They let their bodies put on more weight. And yes some hubby tends to look for a slimmer and prettier ladies. But then I praised those guys who stick to their wives no matter how big or unattractive she may become.

I agree. Women tends to be vain with their looks so they make ways on how to maintain their younger looking self.
Men tends to be not bothered at all, but of course there are also vain men.

The point is if women get old faster than men,or look older than men at the same age? I think that women get old faster, their souls get old faster than men`s. But women take much more care for their faces and their bodies than men. Women are more careful what they eat and drink than men. That`s way I think that women grew old faster than men, but usually look younger than their partners.

Hmm, i am confused in your last line.
Maybe you mean that in terms of the appearance , women have an edge over men because of those things that you mentioned. Consequently, even if they grow old , they do not look like it. Did i get it?

I am so glad to see that you have a really and happy relationship with your husband.I think that the matter of age has to do with genes and heritancy. For ex. me and my mom look much more younger than our age. I am 36 and all people make me not more than 23 and my mom is 57 and everyone thinks of her like 40-42.
It is very good that you maintain your sense of humor as a couple because humor is very substantial to a healthy relationship and helps the couple to overcome their problems.

Actually, my husband and i have the same line of thinking when it comes to our looks as we grow older. We both don't want our looks show our real age, so we help ourselves in maintaining our looks.
And yes, most of all we maintain our good sense of humor, because it doesn't only help us look younger, but it also keeps our relationship alive and strong.

hai,
i accept the fact the women look older soon than men because i have seen a a live example and that too of my mother in law and my father in law, he looks my elder brother and she looks my mother in law this might be due to the fact that he is a sidha doctor and also is doing yoga from the age of nine so he looks to be in his early forties but he is 58 actually and i admire that fact in him.

That's true my friend.
It's really a big plus, that we like to take care of ourselves. We take vitamin supplements, eat right and do exercises. Most of all , always having a happy disposition in life.
They can really contribute in hiding your real age.

I think it's not a matter of gender. Some men keep looking young for a long time, and some women keep looking young for a long time too. It's mostly a combination of genetics and taking good care of your health and skin.
People tend to think I'm 10 years younger than I actually am, but I don't use makeup so often, take good care of my skin, do exercise, so that helps.
Women who abuse makeup everyday tend to have an old looking skin sooner, for example.

Actually my friend, the make-up has no major contribution to our aging. It's the process of putting and removing them that has that effect. If we properly put them on and remove them, without having to tug or wipe so much on the skin , it will not be harmed or deteriorate.

Age does play its role in everyones life,everyone get disturbed at one particular period with the age ,and get stress also with depression.Age does matters a lot,as we pay attention towards it as we see the grey hair and other changes coming up and if we do not achieve anyting in life then the age shows us more and more older.The tensions steal away the smile they make eyes look with pain so the attraction does decrease.When it is a married couple they should hav e love for each other so that they do not get involved in such petty things.

Actually, if both of the partner loves each other unconditionally, then aging is not a problem, specially when it comes to their look.
However, it would still be nice if we do something to preserve our looks, so it wouldn't age us so much, thus , would still look great and younger despite the actual old age.
When couples do that, they will be proud of introducing their mate to other people.

Funny, my mom looks way, way younger than my dad. But, my dad is only a year older. I guess that it's in my mom's genes. I have aunts (her sisters) who are ten to 15 years my senior but they look like my age. Their youngest even looks younger than me!! Or, perhaps it's my father's thinning hair that's giving him away.

Yes, a thinning hair can really make a man look older. There are lots of younger man who have them, and they do look older than their actual age.

Me too was 3 year older than my husband but I can say that I look younger than him... he's balding that's why hahahah (sorry hubby). It runs in their genes. But he's still the most handsome of them all huh! Word from a loving wife *LOL!
I think some women looks older than their age because most women were doing tough jobs at home and didn't mind that they were getting lousy each day. They don't even put some moisturizer even in their face alone to help alleviate the aging *LOL.
Another fact is, whether men or women, if abused by vices (smoking and drinking) will really drain their youth to look older at their age.
Let's live healthy for a good aura and positive outlook it will bring in to us!

I also noticed that those plain stay at home housewives are always wearing dusters, which make them so losyang.
I once was a housewife, but i don't wear them. Instead, i wear shorts and sleeveless tops. That way, i still would look sexy doing the chores.
Wives who are career women tend to look younger than their husbands, because they are always dressed nicely. And since they have their own salaries, they have money of their own to pamper or prettify themselves.

Well, women should learn how to cope with those natural phenomenon in their lives. Amidst all of that, they should learn that while doing all those, they can still maintain their beautiful and younger looks.
They don't have to buy those expensive facial creams they just have to know those readily available home remedies for beautifying one self. Right, my friend.

i think, more than the gender differences, it is the genes that characterize individual aging. environment will also play a role, but the DNA is the principal driver of aging. there are also many factors such as disposition in life. jolly and happy person look younger than those depressed. overworked people look older than those with light work.
