Hello anil, These words are looking like a quote. It is not a big mistake to die in poverty, at least for a Christian : Jesus was rich and he chose to be poor and to die in poverty... Monks are still making a vow of poverty today. This quote -- whatever you name it -- is significant of the part occupied by materialism in our society, and seems to forget that we can also be spiritually rich.

Hi topffer You are quite right. Rich or Poor doesnt matter. What matters is what you make of your life. I disagree with what that girl said. I have seen rich turn poor and even poor turn rich only because of how they took things in their life.

Saying that to die in poverty is a mistake looks like this girl is stigmatizing poverty. Poverty is not stigmatized in Christian countries and can be a respected choice and a virtue -- poverty was also a virtue BC for Cynic philosophers. You may be interested by the life of Diogenes : http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Diogenes_of_Sinope --. It does not mean that these people are not "working for development" : even religious communities have to eat, and today they have internet shops to sell their products. Like thesids said, what your make of your life is what matters, personal achievement has nothing to do with being poor or rich.

I also don't trust a lot Wikipedia though everything is not wrong in Wikipedia. I have been excessive and I have to agree with you that personal achievement can have something to do with being poor or rich, but it cannot be the only goal in a life, because in both cases it would be a... poor choice. I hope it is not the only one for this girl.

I agree with her to a large extent....In our country the only two things that get recognised and respected are power and money. One can see it in all issues especially so when it pertains to the government .I have had several experiences which proves to show that humanity and other related virtues are a lost cause here and only money and power counts now! All the best and have a nice day

Personally this is Great words of Inspiration for anyone. I would think this would be enough to inspire people no matter where they have come from. Too many times there are people who come from Poor backgrounds as children that think this is the way that it will always be, and never try to change things. But personally we are only stopping ourself when we think that, as there is always a whole world out there to explore.

Government officials should stop corruption. They should read this inspiring words from a poor girl. I was inspired. I don't want to die in vain because of poverty. I need to be strong and stand up. I want to progress in life.

Yes your correct anil, these words are more than enought to inspire any one. I too heard this sentence some where, Really inspiring one. Eduacation and hard work are the two best way to come out from the poverty. If some one is educated then he/she can come out from poverty by using his education. Second case is if your not educated also, by using the hard work you can come up with flying colors. Nice smile in photo. Keep smiling forever !

I don't know that I'd call it a "mistake" to die in poverty. Not everyone born in poverty is lucky enough to escape that situation. It takes intelligence, hard work, dedication, and a whole lot of lucky coincidences. I think everyone born into poverty should work to get out of it, but I don't know that everyone will be successful.
