It is quite true that the HOLY BIBLE is full of flinty nuggets of worldly wisdom. It is replete with sayings that purport the realities of human existence. The words encrypted in the text is beyond compare..it soothes..it enlightens ..it enlivens .The belief is not in compliance with the religious faith being followed. THE BIBLE...it is wisdom in completeness. None could deny it...for that matter even non-believers perhaps.

You can even search the bible in different languages. Here's a link: http://www.biblegateway.com/ I enjoy reading Psalms sometimes. I am an agnostic and cannot trust the interpretation of the Bible. I have seen too many things that make my question it.

Belief or non-belief ....it is rather individualistic.

I think that one of the most interesting things that I've ever learned about the bible was when I was in college and I was taking a theology class. The teacher that I had for that class, Fr. Zoeller made me see the bible in a whole different light. Where up until that point of time in my life I thought that the bible was supposed to be taken literally, he taught me and everyone else in that class that it is instead meant to be taken figuratively. After learning that in school, I feel like I've become a much more enlightened person from my readings of the bible.

The Holy Book in fact has helped me gain mastery over the English language which is not my native tongue. It builds up language potential as well as increases our knowledge horizon.

There's also of course much history in the bible.. Yet most of all it is an overall story of life as it began including mankind's ability to choose, and also how it all 'ends' by paradise being restored.

I agree, and the Bible has the answers for our life and the way we are suppose to live it. After all the Bible is: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.

You're right. But it's not just reading and appreciating what's on it. Whether you are a Christian or not, you must apply to the real world what you have learned from these Holy Scriptures. There are even people who haven't read those but were able to apply the teachings from them. Just being curious, there are a lot of Bible versions today. Is there a best Bible version? Which version would you recommend for me?

The application possibilities of biblical sayings are enormous.Sadly only quite a few have turned to it for solutions faced in everyday life.
