Oh my god, someone just breaking my house. It happened went I'm not in the house visiting my friend. My house not totally empty because my niece still in the house (but always stay upstairs). I'm not leaving my house for long (about 30 minutes) but ..... DAMMM .... a thief breaking my house and stole my money and my mom jewelries (total loss about $50.000) They must be someone who know my family. They know exactly when me and my family members not in the house I already call police about this ..... Sorry I can't think and talk too much right now, I'm still shocked.

Oh no, I am so sorry Olleenz, I hope they catch who did that and your possessions are returned to you..So your niece was upstairs and she didn't hear anything? She is fortunate that whoever broke in didn't know she was there, she could have been hurt..

I could make more money in the future but historical value of my mom jewelries is priceless. Some of them came from my great-grandmother. I'm very sad about this

My niece had big ego. When she already upstairs, she doesn't care anything (even bomb explode). Lucky for her, thief not have enough time to explore my house (I came too early than their expected). If not, something bad could happened to her.

Sorry to read this Olleenz. It happened to me last February. It was also a Saturday, and I found the thief at home when I came back. They were probably two, and several items had already disappeared, though I have been more lucky than you. I hope the police will find your burglar(s).

That is rather unfortunate and sorry that happened. There have been a lot of break ins around the area where I live as well and I tend to be a bit paranoid for various reasons to begin with. I don't like to really stray from the house for too long, because there are just going to be a lot of people out there that seem shady and when I see people walking around on the sidewalk, that I recognize but they do not live nearby, I get rather nervous. I feel like they are casing the place and in some ways they really are. There are just going to be a lot of times where people just are looking to see when you are not home and then they are going to strike. They walk by, they drive by, they do pretty much every single thing. That's why I keep my doors locked tight when I'm out but if someone was desperate enough, they'll find a way in. Hopefully these people get caught.

After this happened I little bit paranoid and already spread among my neighbors (my house is first place for thief who dare steal inside house). For some reason, I believe thief who break my house know me. High possibility is my my neighbors or my friends. They know exact time when me and my family not in the house.

I'm sorry for your loss Olleenz. $50,000 is a huge amount and I know that other valuable things got stolen. However, shocking as it is, I still feel relieved that no one got hurt specially your niece who was just upstairs. I hope the culprits will eventually be caught.

That's one thing we should be thankful for. If you failed to come home earlier then things could have been worse. Hopefully the police can catch those bad guys right away for your family's safety.

Me and my niece already calm right now but I saw different attitude in her. Before this happened, She not care about anything except her own and she always argue (make excuse) with me when she made mistake. But after this, she more caring about other. She not argue with me anymore and do everything I ask without protest ( .... hmm maybe a little bit) The truth I'm not expect police can caught them soon. They work terrible in here. It surprised for me if police can catch them.

1. Already call cops about but they came after 1 hour 2. Security system not popular in my country because went crime happen: a) this system not help police in my country to make investigation, b)sometimes give false signal

That's so scary! I hope your niece is okay. It's awful about your mom's jewelry. It does seem too well-timed to happen by chance.

I'm sorry for your loss, but how did the thieves break in? And how come your niece never found out that you were being burglarized? Was she asleep? I have never had the misfortune of being robbed (and I hope it never happens). My mom's house has days when it is empty since I live alone and I do have to go home to my hubby which is far from this house. But the house has never been broken into because we have installed good locks and burglar alarms. Also, I have invested in a bank safe for my jewelry and the jewelry I inherited from my mother. Not that this is a huge amount, but the memory of my mother wearing these pieces are far more valuable than the jewelry itself. Plus other valuable documents. I wonder why you and your mother had that much in the house? I mean, personally speaking it's okay to lose appliances like TVs, cameras and other stuff. I suggest if you do have that much lying around in the house to invest in a bank safe.

Oh olleenz, Sorry for your loss.$50,000 is a big money. You must not leave your house alone in future as these days it happens in DELHI too people keep on watching and once they see that all the members are out of the house they break in and do their work by thefts.I have seen at least 5~6 cases like this in my location.

OMG you leave that all lying around? Your niece did not hear a thing? Lately it happend to my neighbour while she and her daughter were sleeping.. they also found the keys inside her living room and took her brand new car. She told me next day and I found it terrible. Especially because I live next door and did not hear a thing. She thought the thieves were familiar because it wasn't a mess at all at her place. So they knew where to look or what. I hope the police will catch that thief or the thieves.

I made correction, less than 15 minutes. I checked my niece and she said 15 minutes before I arrive, she went down for a while to borrow my modem and everything still in place. Yup, thief know exact place where I put important stuff/item and they use crowbar to break it.
