Well? Did you like it? Hate it? Me? I had just started watching the last few weeks. I thought the ending was ok. It is always sad when a soap ends. Your thoughts.

Wow, I didn't know these things ended, that is amazing..I don't watch soaps anymore, but the ones I did watch I am sure is still playing strong..I wonder if they were to end, how they'd end it. Well, I guess since you just started watching, you don't have an attachment to the show, I feel for those who are. Because I quit watching on my own, but if I was forced to by the show ending, I think I would be devastated..

Both has happened to me , many times over. It first happened with my nighttime soaps. I was there for the first and last episodes of Dallas. I came a little late to Dynasty but I stayed to see the end. Both hurt. But not as badly as when As The World Turns and Guiding Light. Both of these I saw religiously Until a certain storyline would pi$$ me off and I would leave. When they both ended I had been away for years. I came back for the end.

In 2009! It was so sad. I remember getting home from highschool Just in time to watch it! Dallas last episode was sort of creepy, like a cross between It's a Wonderful Life and a Christmas Carol for J.R with The Devil being his guide. I really didn't like it. The one thing I did like seeing was Sue Ellen getting J.R. back!

Just out of curiosity how did it end? I used to watch that many years ago, but then I just got tired of all the same old story lines repeating over & over so I stopped watching soap operas altogether.

Todd was about to get arrested for Victor's murder (he's back with Blair), but they then showed him (Victor) being held hostage by Allison Perkins. Clint proposed to Viki, Destiny had Matthew's child and named it Drew after his brother (I have no idea who Drew is because I haven't watched it for years like others.) Nora and Bo ended up together too. But the characters of Blair, Todd, John, and Star will be transferred to General Hospital.

I use to watch One Life To Live regularly, but the story lines just stopped being good enough for me. Its always sad to see a show end, but it became clear that the ratings drop was going to cause the network to find another show to bring in ratings.

I had watched it on and off over the last six or so years, so I didn't know who all the people are when they referenced them over the last couple of weeks. Like I don't know who Drew is, although like they said it was Matthew's brother. But by what woman, maybe Nora? I have no idea. I wish they had ended Jessica and Brody's story differently. He was so good to her for so long, and then they find out her kid Ryder is really Brody's son and not Ford's. A shame. I never liked Todd or Blair so I'm fine with him being arrested for a murder that never happened. I thought it was a fantastic ending that showed Victor being held captive by Allison. Unlike AMC, OLTL ended thinking they were going to be continued on the internet. So they had some great cliffhangers. I was glad to see Viki and Clint together. I do wish they had brought back Marty with Patrick since Cole said his dad was alive anyway.

I just now read from another mylotter that Drew was Bo's son by a singer named Becky, and that years later Drew came back and joined the police, but got killed in the line of duty. I would have had no clue.

I assumed The way Matthew's mom started to cry , she was Drew's mom.i saw that Blair and Todd are going to General Hospital. So is Starr! That was good to see.

They screwed up with those soap operas. I never watched them, but if they wanted to get the younger people into them, then they should have changed the format, put them on cable and put them on at night. I had a few ideas what they could have done with them. One of them is, since reality shows are popular, they could have had a reality soap where they show you behind the scenes in real time. Everything that goes on. Then afterwards, they could show the actual soap. But they had to be updated. It was the same garbage I remember as a kid when my mother and grandmother watched them. Nothing changed. They also could have put them into social networks, on youtube. You name it, they could have made billions if they would have changed up.

There was this show that followed 5 soap stars off stage. The problem, one left her soap and the other two were fired when One Live To Live ended!

No, no. no. Not everyone can afford cable. Some shows should remain on network t.v.

Well, I still think if they would have rethought them they could be making big money with them. I also believe that all those reality shows really should be on cable channels. I cannot stand all the bleeping out and all the stuff you can not see. Same goes for all those daytime talk shows. They are wasting their time on regular TV channels.

I never watched One life to live but it has been around so long that I know it will be missed by many people. Soap operas can be very addictive. I've never watched them as an adult but I did as a child because my mom did. We used to watch Young & the Restless, As the World Turns, Bold and the Beautiful and Guiding Light. Guiding Light was my favorite and it ended in 2009. Although, I hadn't watched it since I was little, I remember being very sad when I heard it was ending because it was as if a childhood memory or friend was being destroyed. That soap was a staple of my childhood that had been around long before me and for some silly reason I thought it would be around long after me. It almost made me cry and then I had to remind myself that it was just a t.v. show, nothing more and nothing less.

You are mentioning my faves! As The World Turns and Guiding Light.I watched them when I was a teenager. I would rush home from school to see the last 30 minutes of Guiding Light! Those were the days! I was heart broken to find they were both gone!

Those really were the days when the only important thing in our life was if Reva and Josh would breakup or get back together. lol It's cool that they ended the show with the two of them getting back together.

I've never watched a soap opera in my life. It really doesn't matter to me whether they begin, end, or stand still another 50 years.

It isn't a waste of time if you are enjoying what you are watching.
