I have joined squidoo.com for nearly 6 months and until now I have not earn a single penny from any of my lenses, not even from the 1st lens that is nearly 6 month old now. I have seen many people talk about they are getting royalties from their lenses monthly, but it seem that it doesn't happen on mine. My question is, when will we get the royalty? What kind of criteria to start to earn royalty? Please help me if anyone of you know about it. Worked for 6 months and still getting nothing is really discouraging.

I've been a member of squidoo for years and just had one successful lens that just makes a few cents a month. I've got 7 lenses now some of them are quite new but even the ones that get quite a few visitors haven't earned anything yet. I can't work out why. I've found a lot of helpful lenses that give advice on how to earn more on squidoo and have made changes to my lenses and promote them a bit more so hopefully I'll start to see some results soon. I think to make a decent amount of money on a site like squidoo you have to have a lot of good lenses that get a lot of traffic which is hard to achieve.

Hi! I am almost the same like you, so far I have 12 lenses and have earn around $5, I think promotion and updating frequently will help, and also to be lucky to create a great lens will really let you see the different. It is not easy to get a good and famous topic to start but once you get it right, you will see the different. My only constraint is to get traffic to my lenses.

I long ago gave up on Squidoo. I found it very time consuming and complicated to begin with but I stuck with it. I created two or three lenses. I got some views and good feedback but not one cent. I finally gave up on it. Some writers do well and even very well on Squidoo. I was not one of them.

Hi! From my experience with squidoo, you will need to wait at least 2 month after your lens publish and also you lens must be in the paying tier. or with lens rank at least below 80000. So, if you really want to be successful with squidoo. you have to be very patient and keep creating more lenses. It is a long term work and the revenue are quite good after some time. At least that is what I saw from others lensmasters.

Hi! I don't find it too hard to get your lens rank below 80000, what you need to do is to do a keywords research before your create your lens, find all those good keywords and use them in your lens. Once you have created your lens, ping it using pingomatic and use bookmarking site to bookmarks your lens. And also, visiting and squidliking others members' lenses will also bring your traffic, try to visit those giant squid's lenses and squidangels' lenses, it really helps. Update your lens from time to time, fresh content or just add some new tags will do. I did this way, and most of my lens are below 80000. So far each lens have earn me something every month.

It has been well over six months since I completed my last lens. I could never get any of my ranks to be below 80000. They are all over 100,000. I do not have the time right now to give to this site but some day, I may go back and try again. Some writers do very well on Squidoo and are very happy on the site as they should be. Others, like myself, do not do well at all. I wish you good luck on Squidoo and will be interested in your experiences down the road.

Its funny you mention this because NO I have not been paid yet for this month. We used to get paid early in the month @ 12th so I dont know whats going on now. I have been a member for years and the earnings used to be very good but every since they added the ranking system, NOT any more. I login daily just to get the credits. Better read over the points/levels to see how you can earn. Traffic helps a lot; that's how I earn from my lenses. Good luck.

Hi sergeantrom, What I mean here is how long it takes to get paid from squidoo. I have join squidoo for few months and I did not see any progress at all. But now I have learn that you will only get paid if you lens ranking is in the paying tier. 1st tier is within 2000 and 2nd tier is within 2001 to 10000, and tier 3 is 10001 to 80000, above that, you will have nothign. All tiers are with different amount of payment, Tier 1 will pay more than tier 2 and so on. So, in order to earn more, you have to push your lenses ranking to the top or in the paying tier. Here the ranking mean you lens ranking, but not the point that determine your level.

Yeah I was just thinking about not getting paid after reading your post. I also figured someone had already explained the ratings to you since I still dont understand it myself. I may have to move my lens soon since the earnings are going down. My all time favorite lens gets tons of traffic and if I finally move this one, thats it for me and squidoo. I have nothing left to give. One thing that did help me though was constantly updating my lens. Unfortunately that habit was owed to OCD and wanting my lens to be perfect.

Uhh, no! That really is discouraging, yspmyl. 6 months? I can't believe it. I joined Squidoo in October and I have been getting royalties ever since my first payday (only two to be exact). I should also mention that my other Squidoo account has received payments thrice since October (started late August with that account). i don't know what to say or where to start because Squidoo is so vast and the payment system is complex. Almost all new users don't understand Squidoo and get away from it without even trying to understand (thus losing a great chunk of residual income!). Glad you are still trying... great! The first thing you should know is that your lenses should be below an average lensrank of 85,000 to earn any royalties. For example, if one of your lenses had an average lensrank of 40000 in October, you get a small royalty two months later i.e. on December. Here is a similar discussion that shows how payments work in Squidoo: http://www.mylot.com/w/discussions/2588928.aspx Squidoo is also a website, so your articles need to be effectively SEO'd. But don't jump into creating huge backlinks, create back links in a natural way.. submit to bookmarking sites, ask your followers to do the same and you might want to post a link in your blog as well. Just rinse and repeat. And don't give up!

Understanding of the rules is the must before we start earning from a particular site. For me, it is very important to read through and to understand the ways the system works so that, we shall not violate the rules and to boost our earning. Without doing so, I shall be a blind person who will just knock here and there. If I am lucky enough, I shall still be able to reach my cash out threshold after a long period or I shall be banned if I am not lucky. Understand first before we start something.
