This is funny, I've got stiff neck from too much lotting. I've been sitting here for almost 4-5 hours a day and what i got is this. Stiff neck. I can feel some tingling sensation on my neck from all the way to my back, maybe because of my body position. I'm used to slouch which is not really good because it can cause back and neck pain. I think i have to sit erect and move once in a while. LOL.

I ve done the same thing when i first started especially. it was so new and so much fun to finally join a place where people actually do comment to you and discuss all the things that interest you. this is the best place ive been on the net i learned its good to just get up every now and then, stretch and move around some. you can always come back, you know

hi bunnybon I had to learn to get up every so often as my feet and legs used to swell. I also love mylot but have learned not to sit still for long periods but move around then come back. my legs thank me for that. course they have me on lasix which means I get my exercise running to the bathroom occasionslly too. lol

I used to have the same problem. Now, my approach is to move around and do not sit for long time in front of the computer just to write in myLot. :) MyLot is fun but we have to take care of our health as well to continue mylotting.

hi tatzkie I have a tendency to be here for hours and thus my legs and feet will swell. so my doctor said to wiggle my feet back and forth every half hour. also get up and walk around the room after an hour. as for stiff neck sounds like you may need a better desk chair. I had one that did not support my back or my neck. I have a different one now and no more stiff neck. lord I know how painful a stiff neck can be. Perhaps to save neck a nd eyes take time every little period to swivel your neck and glance around the room. this saves neck strain and eye strain too.I try to sit up straight and look around the room often as that keeps my neck muscles looser. Just sitting without ever moving is hard on us, as I know. hope you get over your stiff neck soon. lol

You need to get up and move for five or ten minutes out of every hour. Do some stretching. See if you can apply something warm to your neck. I do this too.

If you have a laptop, get into a recliner and lean back, if you fall asleep the discussion may have changes a little but it will still be here! You could always take some aspirin before you sit down....

Need to put your computer in a more ergonomic position when you use it. Laptops are bad for being in weird positions while on them. Roll your shoulders and your neck to help loosen stiff muscles. I work on computers all day...there was a point when i found i was even getting nasty headaches. I've started getting massage therapy - also had some chiropractic but that scared me - and my headaches have stopped.

I know a massage therapist that is taking training in the myofascial release...but other than her theres no one locally that does it. Not sure about trigger point therapy...what is it?

hello friend .....i think your guess is absolutely right that you have this stiff neck because of your prolonged sitting in front of the pc or computer. sir if you dont seriously change your sitting position then it is very likely that you might also develop this cervical spondylitis.so please do rectify your sitting posture. have a nice day

LOL. Looks like a lazy girl. I bet you're really comfortable there. I stand up and sit up too, but it doesn't go away. It's starting to piss me off. I wish i could lie in bed too, but unfortunately im using this old model desktop. LOL. Sad for me

I guess this is what happens to most myLotters who spend so much time in here. I used to have such pain and head ache too. Thankfully, these days my back and neck is not giving me much pain.

There are days I will stay away from the computer. If it's really bad, I would ask my mom to massage it and put some ointments. If it's so so bad, I would take painkiller - 'though I don't wanna rely on it much. Try to sit on a nice chair too and if you're using your lappy in the bed. Sometimes put a pillow on your back and sit straight.

You could have both buttocks and back pain for sitting erect. If you push your chest out while sitting, you could also suffer from stiff neck because you're using muscles out there below the base of your neck. The best way is try to have a bite or a sip, take a munch while you are working on your computer. Stand up, walk around and have a yoshi break...

Hi Tatzkie, Never had a stiff neck before..but I have pain my back which I really hate so much. I am trying a way to get rid of it such as massage. It do lessen the pain but stil it is still there. Now, I am sitting on a chair that I can properly rest my back to avoid making it more worst. Anyways, in your case, it will just go away. I hope that it will be soon. And also, try to stretch out every once in a while to avoid that from happening again. It's OK to stay long in front of our PC but we also need to think of ourselves and stretch. Happy Mylotting!

It seems that the stiff neck or shoulders are the common problem for the people who sit and face to the computer for a long time. In fact it is not so difficult to solve this problem. Besides having a break sometimes, actually you can go to swim. Swimming does help a lot for this issue. I love China

I also experience this if I do lotting for more than 2 hours. I guess it is good to move your neck every now and then. Give your time also to relax. I guess few seconds will do. Just enjoy mylot and don't take it seriously. Earn money while having fun.

Hello, tatzkie23. I am thinking that you need more unmylot time. JK. Look at people who slouch, they have shorter lives, they like to knit, and have too many cats. Ha, Ha, HAaa!!! No but seriously, it is time to take a rest, and let others rack up the $$$. Have a GREAT day. :) :) :)
