Tonight an old friend and I chatted on Facebook. She told me that she has opened her own nail art salon and that she enjoys having her own business. I am very happy for her and after the conversation I thought a bit more about the topic and I thought about the business that I would open if I decide to get my own business one day. There are two kinds of things that I would be especially interested in. One of them is an art and crafts shop. I would sell my own art and crafts as well crafts as well as other people's art and crafts. The other thing that I would be interested in is a job as a psychoterapist. I would take the education and when I got my diploma I would open my own clinic. If you decided to have your own business, which kind of business would you choose? Why?

A pleasant day Porcospino, It was six months ago when I have decided to have a career redirection. I have decided to put a small catering business together with my sister as the Chef. But as time goes by so many situations arises. Situations that turn to be a hindrance. Situation that leads me to the negative side of the fence. Situation that push me to my limit and lead me not to proceed with it anymore. As a result, I did not go and proceed with it. Until I found myself in this category of business, being an Internet Marketer. Hence, I found satisfaction here. My knowledge and enthusiasm was developed. So I have diverted my time and effort being faced on the net. Aside from that, I have pursue my interest in Entrepreneurial. Although I did not succeed with the small catering business, I have pursue doing and selling non-food business. And I am happy doing this job. Plus adding the fact that I can do a freelance job, I can still pay attention to other work that I should do as an Entrepreneur. Thus, in this field, it is your passion counts.

It is great to hear that you have found a job that is right for you and a job that you makes you happy. Sometimes the first decision that we make isn't the right decision and I think it is important that we are not afraid to make a different decision if the first choice doesn't make us happy. I have tried many different things during the my life and sometimes I have made the wrong decision, but I have learned from all of my experience, and I don't regret trying more than one thing.

Hi Porcospino The idea of having a business is quite lucrative and tempting for many. Even I was lured to start off one day, but then I realized that I am better off as a Freelance worker or even a paid worker. I am a Computer Professional and have spent the past 17 years of my career as a Trainer (teacher) and today I work as a Website Programmer. Obviously, if I have to think any day to have a business, this will be the only thing that I think I will be comfortable with as this is not quite a natural thing with me today. I tried to start a business related to handicraft items (specially created by the differently abled people) sometime in 1999. But as I had not much idea on how to go about it, it flopped. There was a little loss too but that made me realize that I am not made for Business - doesnt come naturally to me. I will have to spend a lot of time studying, researching and also maybe have to learn accounts, management etc. and I am worst when it comes to these. So if at all I have to have a business, it will be online, something related to websites and related things.

I like your idea about handicrafts items created by the differently abled people. That kind of business would also appeal to me, but you are right it requires a lot of work and knowledge to have your own business and there are many things you have to learn. Even though your business didn't turn out the way you hoped, I don't think that is a bad thing that you started it, because you have learned something about yourself. You have discovered that a certain lifstyle (business owner) is wrong for you and that you prefer to live your life in different way, and I think that is a valuable experience.

I would open up a boarding kennel. I know a thing or 2 about it (I better, I work in one! LOL) so I feel it would be a good business venture for me. Plus, I love working with animals so I might as well make a living out of it. Happy mylotting!

My passion has always been computer and Internet, that's why I choose to open a cybercafe. It is small for now. I only have 4 PCs, one photocopy machine and a printer. I plan to apply for a loan to purchase more PCs and build my own shop instead of renting. I also plan on offering more services like designing wedding cards or invitation and computer class in the near future.

Dear friend, even if the job online, now is the future of the trades, I am still far away to start an online businnes. First, I do not have a real job, I'm pretty good with the computer (Windows only, absolutely inexperienced with Mac) and I can do some small job as an electrician. However you never know, maybe one day I could sell on the net !

One of my friends works online and he makes a living that way, but it has been a long process and it had taken lots of time, energy and work to get that far. I hope that you will be able to start your own business one day. I have also thought about starting my own online business. I already have an online gallery, but I don't sell much that way, and if I decide to start an online business one day I will probably choose a different kind of business for instanse some kind of online shop.

It is great to hear that you are a creative person. I am creative, too and I like to paint and draw and do other kinds of creative activities. An eating joint where you specialise in a particular cuisine sounds like a nice idea. Which cuisine did you have in mind? Or haven't you decided that yet? My thoughts about my own business is also is dream so far, and I don't know if it will be become a reality in the future. When I chatted with my friend and she told me about her business I felt inspired to start my own business as well, but there are many practical hings that I have to consider before I get that far.

Those two businesses are great. If given the capital and time, I would invest in ready to wear business. Because this is really good nowadays. People go to shops and whenever they see a nice dress, they automatically buy it. I guess every business varies in every location.

I've been thinking to have my own business too. But I want to have a business wherein I feel I am going to enjoy with it. I plan to open just a simple food chain, a boutique. How I wish that I can start it while I'm still young.
