I know that people aren’t really allowed to just post discussions with poems in them, or cookery in them.. I think that’s the way it works. Not entirely sure actually, so I may read the guidelines again after this but this is an actual discussion I assure you, so fingersw crossed it doesn’t get deleted. My friends and I often joke about on facebook about random things. And the latest is my status up date of “mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug mug.. teacup.” It has sparked a little debate on my facebook about mugs and teacups haha with some people private mailing me pictures of their favourite mugs or teacups. So today I decided to post a little poem about a teacup that I found online, and tagging the people that are enjoying this online debate lol! It can be read here.. http://oldfashionedliving.com/forums/showthread.php?12475-A-Teacup-Poem Everyone started congratulating me on my poetry, and alas I had to admit it was not my poem lol! However, I wrote one.. just to prove I could, and this is it. There was a little teacup The smallest in the land, He always had a biscuit beside him, ... Because it couldn’t fit in his hand. His name was Tommy tea-cup, And he was a happy little man, He always kept his tea warm, He did everything to plan. He was partial to some sugar, And a little drop of milk, He liked to sit on his saucer, Or on a doily made of silk. His owners weren’t the careful type, They’d clink and clatter him sore, He had the few odd chips and dents, And had once been dropped on the floor. His best friend was a milk jug, And Toby was his name, They didn’t look a thing alike, But inside they were the same. Their life had a purpose, And they were happy to partake, In their daily ritual, For their family’s tea-drinking-sake. What do you think of this? It’s great finding enjoyment in the little things you do, especially when they spark big discussions. That’s what Mylot is for after all :)

I think you did a wonderful job with that poem, and I don't like reading poems..lol Yet I feel I can say this because one class I have to take is Creative Writing Poetry and that is what I am taking now and getting full credit every time.. So, just because I don't care to read or write them, I know how to at least..lol

yey!!!! so you value my peom. i'm glad. i didn't want this to just be a discussion about the poem though, because i think that sometimes offends people. this is my mylot account, but some people take it very personally and try to dictate what you can and cannot write, despite the fact that if they don't like it they don't have to read it haha, so i was also wanting this discussion to be about how little things can turn into bigger things lol! :)

Oh, sorry, I guess I missed that part and even after rereading it, I didn't see it.. But this perhaps can be a big thing for me..How often are you online? Like daily or every other day? Because though I do have one friend I share my poetry work with for my class, it would be great to have another set of eyes. See I am not really into writing poetry, but have to for my class and of course I am not confident in myself, so I hang onto the poem until my friend reads it and if I need suggestions on changing it, I can do that before submitting. Are you willing to do that? I write a poem every week and already turned in this weeks assignment, but if you would be willing to critique my work, it would be great..

I am never quite sure what constitutes a discussion here, but I know I have seen some shyte ones, and this isn't one of them. The only other teacup poem I know is this one..... "I'm a little teapot short and stout Here is my handle, here is my spout When I hear the teacups hear me shout Tip me up and pour me out" and that doesn't compare with yours! I do like poems and especially limericks, so I will try and come up with one for you. If this does get deleted then I will be most upset as I can tell you have put some effort into writing this. Let's hear it for Toby!!!!!

lmfao! Trust you to make me laugh.. "Let’s hear it for Toby" haha! I’m always really worried about posting discussions on here, after reading so many people starting discussions about people who don’t start valid discussions lol.. I’m a nervous wreck I’m not joking. So many people have an opinion on what is a discussion and what isn’t .. and before I would have been like, sod it, I discussed teacups on facebook for 4 hours, surely someone would want to discuss teacups, or poems about teacups here.. but then there will always be one saying no, not a valid discussion because of this and that.. when in reality they probably just don’t like it. Personally I don’t believe that a discussion about what is a discussion and what isn’t, is valid, but I don’t rain on their parade haha!
