Fortunately Khuay is a lightweight guy!

Khuay never ceases to surprise me. He has a new stunt that he started yesterday. He was on the end table in the family room when he meowed and made it clear he wanted me to come closer. I went up to him to see what might be on his furry mind. He stretched up full length, put his paws on my shoulder and nuzzled my neck. He knew I would pick him up when he does that, I'm a sucker for his nuzzling my neck. The next thing I knew he had climbed up on my shoulder and draped himself around my neck. He's never made a move like that before and I have no idea what prompted that move. After a few minutes he wanted down and I went to a counter where he could safely get down. Later yesterday he did the same thing, reaching up and nuzzling my neck to let me know he wanted up. The second time was just like the first. I realized that Khuay is aware of my weaknesses in my shoulders and neck so he won't just jump up on my shoulders to curl up around my neck. He also knows that if he were to just jump down he could injure me too. But now it's getting to be a habit to have a morning ride around my neck. Fortunately he is a bit lighter than his brother, Willy, weighing in at 12 pounds (to Willy's 22) so I don't mind giving him his ride. He also always says a "meow" to thank me for the ride. He may be a bit crazy in his antics, but he is a polite cat. Has your cat shown a new interest that was totally unexpected?

Aww... They do know how to be cute, don't they? My cats have an array of ways of being cute. This evening, my boy kept reaching one paw very delicately for my boyfriend's container of ice cream. He didn't get any (since it wasn't straight vanilla), but he did look cute begging. Then, of course, earlier in the day he was sleeping next to his feline cousin. He had his front paws resting on her rear end. He's lucky she didn't decide to swat him for that... The youngest was kissing up to me earlier. She was doing the rub, rub, look cute routine. She was sharing my chair, so she probably figured that it was in her best interest to look cute.

I think they plot to be cute. I went into my bedroom one night to find the three boys (Willy, Khuay and Dinglebeary) sound asleep stomach to back with their paws draped over each other. Willy has been having some serious "cat licks" (it's like a cow lick only on a cat). It turns out that Dinglebeary is busily bathing Willy while they're on the bed. I can be relieved that they haven't discovered vanilla ice cream yet. I would be going through tons with both the dogs and cats wanting some. I get the rub rub, pat pat routine when I'm in bed. I guess that's so the cats don't get tossed out of the bed. My guys also will grab the spoon if it is something interesting. They have quite a bit of pull when they want to check out the spoon. Today both Willy and Khuay made a point of laying in the middle of a project I was working on. I left to go to the bathroom and Khuay followed me. Willy left the table and took over my spot on the pillow on my chair. I had to share the chair with him! I am sure they plot all this out first thing in the morning while I'm still asleep. LOL

Oh, I know about the cat licks... The "baby" tends to get groomed by the other two; I guess they figure that she is such a dirty beast that they must groom her. I'm fairly certain that they do plan certain things out. I remember how it used to seem that my former housemate and I would walk into the middle of a cat meeting. They'd all be there (between the two of us, we had about half-a-dozen cats), and you'd get the sense that they'd just been mapping out some strategy. It would seem a little too quiet when we'd walk into the room--sort of like when people have been gossiping about you right before your arrival. They'd all try to look innocent, but I always got the distinct feeling the some plot was a-paw.

No, not other than the blondes want to be where ever I am, whenever I am home, which is not often. The old guy wants a drink in the sink and wants to be on my lap at the computer. The "baby" has been spoiled to sit in hubby's lap when he is at table. (I do not approve) He will purr and put one paw over hubby's arm so that hubby will hug him. He makes a nice hand warmer when the weather is brisk.

When Murphy was a kitten she would sit at my place at the table first thing in the morning. She knew that we would eat hot cereal for breakfast and that meant warm milk. I got to the point I would warm milk for her. Unfortunately she wouldn't eat it on the floor like a normal cat, she had to have it at my spot at the table. When she finished HER milk, I was able to sit and eat my breakfast, except that I had a tiny little girl in my lap while I was eating. (Murphy weighed about 9 ounces when she was a kitten. Even now she tops the scales at four pounds which is tiny for her breed) Her obsession with cream and milk has carried through her life, only now it's whipped cream twice a day. Talk about the nuts running the asylum!

Timus (Ti'mus) loves to be held. After Rygel and then Oliver started jumping from the floor into our arms, he started jumping from counters and the table. But the other day he actually jumped from the floor! I was so pleased with him! I mean, he was jumping further from counters to get into my arms, but that's across rather than straight up... but he had no problem with the jump. He'll put his paws on either side of my neck and nuzzle my chin and lick it. He's so sweet!

Aww...A different kind of Khuay tale..That is really sweet, I have seen where cats do this, but the only cat we had was my daughter's and I was fortunate she'd even jump in my lap, let alone a ride around my neck..

With Khuay doing something so sweet and cute, I am sure he's going to get going and do another riotous "Khuay Stunt". You'll hear about it as soon as it happens. I was just so surprised that he is doing it, especially since he is continuing to do the ride around my neck thing today too.

Shiro started jumping on me while I was sleeping if it need to eat and the bowl is empty or it need to get out from my room and the door is lock. It's not even lightweight and being jumped on at night like that is not a happy experience. I thought it only do that to me. Apparently when it was stuck in my mother's room that night, it did the same thing.
