Should education cost be lower instead of higher?

As you might know, the college tuition is steadily increasing every year. Most parents are struggling in saving up on either 529 plan, or for children's college fund start from their young age. But with such increasing rate on each year, it might not be enough. And the borrowing criteria on education loan will be strict too. President Obama in a speech mentioned that, our education cost should be lower instead of increasing day by day. I would definitely agree with his standpoint. So, only rich people can afford higher education, and poor people can not. That is not fair, and to be able to accept Federal government for education funding, those educating institution should work together to lower the education cost for our students, instead of find every single way to rip them off.

I believe that cost should be real low. After all, the best investment anyone could make is an education. I also believe that every child in this country should have a free education. Being educated is the backbone of this country. Imagine a day when there will be no more ghettos, no more uneducated people. It could happen. But it seems that the right does not want that to be the case. I agree with Obama.

I think that in theory that would be true, it should be a little lower, because in about fifteen years, it is really going to be so out of this world, that unless you are rather well off, you will be still paying off your student loans by the time that you have grandchildren. And I can only just really imagine what the interest will be like right then. I'm so glad I'm done with school, as the last time through pretty much took a huge chunk out of my bank account. It is really hard to really see how anyone but the rather well off is going to be able to afford education, unless they want to be buried right in debt. Which is really not a good idea. The price of even an adequate education is getting to be insane.

I don't understand how higher tuition cost helps. The textbooks are costly and we all know that. But I really do not think professors should be paid high salaries. Of course, I cannot speak for other states. But here in California, going to university means you are all by yourself. The professors don't help much at all. In fact, because of latest technology their work has lessened. They don't even make test questions themselves. All they do is give the same lecture every quarter and much if it comes from the PowerPoint made by textbook author. When it comes to making test questions they just go to test bank and copy everything from there. And as for grading, it is usually done by their TA's. So tell me how they are really helping students? The introduction of new technology actually should minimize the tuition cost. But schools are just making an excuse that because of economy crisis the tuition fee must go up.

I think the cost of education should be lower so that people from poor families can have the possibility to get education and may have a chance to improve themselves in their lives. Now the fee for college education is so high that may cause the bankrupt of a family. And furthermore the college education become a watershed which cut the society apart and solid the unfair of the society. Poor people can not have the chance to move up.

education is one great equalizer for social mobility. education provides a chance to everyone to succeed in life. higher education should be made available to all. state universities must widen their scope and capability to absorb more students. private universities must provide scholarships to deserving students. this they do without compromising the quality of education.

I really do think that education cost should be lower. I live in a third world developing country where almost half of the total population doesn't get to go to school. Even if our public schools here are really cheap, the quality of education to some are bad and worse, people can't still enroll their children to it. They would rather spend the money for food and other stuffs rather than enrolling their children to it. They also don't have the budget to buy uniforms and other school materials. Colleges and high schools are also becoming more expensive. They are increasing their tuition fees almost every semester or every school year. Because of this, students are forced to drop out and instead look for a job that would be able to sustain their everyday needs. Also, because of higher cost of education, some people are taking the risk to do some bad stuff such as stealing, selling their bodies, etc. just to be able to study. I think this problem doesn't only apply to our country, it applies to the whole world. Each one of us has the right to become educated to know more about the things around them so that they will have a better and brighter tomorrow. Today's generation are our hope for the future. How will they be able to do well in the society if they lack the proper knowledge? The rich should also somehow help those who can't afford to study instead of spending their money on gadgets and other less important stuffs.
