When was the last time you were a miracle?

In church one of our leaders asked this question during his talk. He asked "when was the last time you were a miracle".
I thought it was a good question to pose here at Mylot. I'm not asking it to challenge anyone, since none of you answer to me anyway. But the question is a good one for each of us to ask ourselves.
In my life, I have been on both sides of "the miracle". In other words, I have been the miracle that helped others as well as been the miracle that others were for me. In fact, my family and friends praying and fasting for me is part of why I'm still alive today.
I have been the miracle for so many people, I'll never know how many, or even how the miracle turned out for them. Just doing the jobs I've done put me in that position for much of my adult life.
Then 10 years ago, the tables turned. My health took a nose dive, and I was no longer able to do those jobs.. or any other really. To me, my life was devastated. However, now I look back and see what I've learned and how I grew from the experience. It taught me lessons I would never have learned any other way. It also helped those who love me learn a lot too.
In other words, it was a miracle. Not one I would have volunteered for, or one I accepted willingly. In fact, it beat me to the point that I considered giving up completely.. in the ultimate way. But in the end, because of God, wonderful friends and family, and strength I never knew I had... I now stand before you the miracle (ok, I'm actually sitting).
As I said before, this isn't a question you need to answer to me, because you don't answer to me in any way. I just thought it would make a good topic of discussion.

Not only is this a good topic, but it would be a good message (sermon) for me to develop sometime.
I would say anyone in Christ and growing in Him is an ongoing miracle. Right now I am racking my brain for something specific and I am sure there is. Hopefully I was used as a miracle for someone yesterday in one of our services.

Yes, I think it's a great topic for any pulpit. We are, after all, tools in the hands of The Master. So we should be the tools of His miracles too.
If you want to discuss this more specific to what you would say in your sermon, feel free to email me. I'd like to do what I can to help you.

i agree wholeheartedly. we are an ongoing miracle. the fact that we are still living and breathing, moving and doing, is already a miracle. but i think the question should be, when was the last time we became a miracle to/for others?

I have had times where I have discovered a miracle in my life, sort of the way you are referring to a miracle. I think others have been a miracle for me, and I am not sure I will ever know that I was a miracle to someone else. I hope you hear that many people have been miracles, as we need more of them around the earth.

I can't say exactly when was the last time I was a miracle. I think most of us do the best we can and God uses that to create miracles. There have been times when I've called someone or emailed them and they have told me how God used that to help them. A miracle? Maybe. I think God makes us into miracles when we are not aware of it, at least at times.
Like you and many others, I am the result of several miracles as the result of prayers from family and friends. Like you and many others, I would like to be a miracle for many others. It's a privilege to be a part of what God does, no matter which end we're on.

Hi there ParaTed2k,
I think I was a miracle last Sunday evening i went to my dad's house and he was having problems regarding the computer i wasn't planning to go but somehow i felt the need to so I went anyway, so i was watching him fix the computer and then i tried to help and lo and behold the problem was the pin, has been on that PC for almost a day and then now he found the problem and luckily i brought with me small tools that i never bring with me , so i lend him the things and he fixed the computer and said i was a miracle if i hadn't come he wouldn't have the tools to fix the thing because all of his stuff are at another of our house and it in another city.

You're certainly right about this making a good topic of discussion! I usually tend to kind of shy away from discussions in the religion interest because I'm far from a religious scholar or an expert on the Bible and I generally consider my faith a more personal matter. I also don't like to take any chances of offending anyone since I'm afraid I haven't been a regular church goer for many years.
I know where you're coming from when you write about your health problems and family, friends, God and the strength you didn't know you had because I went through much the same thing myself. I'd always been perfectly healthy and in excellent shape until about 8 years ago when it all started falling apart. My family was my miracle, I think my grandkids more than anyone or anything else. I was determined to get through whatever was thrown at me for them and they never doubted for one minute that I could do it. I can only hope and pray I've been the miracle a time or two for others; all I know for sure is that I've always tried to be the best person I can be and to do whatever I could to help others, even if only in a small way.

It is very inspiring! I am hoping for miracles too myself... not for health reason but for financial reasons. There are little miracles that is happening right now, this actually I appreciate very much and the reason why I am still hanging on. I am still praying for grand miracle to happen and I believe that God will never forsake me, I feel his presence everytime and I know I am very heavy to carry that why it takes time for Him to do His way. I've been a miracle too to many person, I know I've helped a lot of them through the talents that God gave me.
Thank you for sharing and God Bless! I hope that you will continue to have a good health and success!
