How Can a College Student Earn Money?

United States

I know that I post all the time saying that I'm in college. So. This is another one of those posts where I say that. I've been on MyLot sporadically. It's basically a New Year's resolution (that I just started yesterday) to see how much money I can earn off of MyLot with a payout of $50 in a year. My estimate is around $300 (so six payouts altogether). I plan to just use the money for general college spending. It's not going toward anything specifically. It's also my only current source of income. That's the reason I started this discussion! If you're in college, or were in college, how did you make money? It's really hard for me to get a job because I have weird hours due to classes and no car for transportation (the buses around here are also late all the time). I'm thinking about selling some of my Magic cards because I have some high-valued ones, but I don't really need to. I'm not too pressed for money; it'd just be nice to have more. I've also explored the route of donating plasma for money, as I mentioned in another discussion, but they don't do that around here. Any thoughts?

I supported myself through college. I took jobs as tutor and encoder then. Back then, I have not heard of mylot nor did I have a computer to start with! I would say your are quite lucky to have more earning options nowadays no matter what age you are. Mylot is a good way for conversing with people about many things be it intellectual or trivial. Earning from Mylot is a bonus. I suggest you look for offline and online jobs that interest you. Are you good in photography, graphics, writing, programming, etc?

often there are jobs you can get on the college or university campus that will pay, have you looked into that?

Yes, I've been applying on campus for a while now, but there's not many available positions. It seems that a lot of the people here are all looking for jobs the same as me.

I just got my B.A. last spring, so I really can understand how you feel. Being a student isn't always easy, when it comes to money and such. Earning money online is one way you can earn a few extra bucks. I wouldn't be surprised if you could find a part-time job somewhere on campus, like at the local bookstore, the library, or something to that effect.

a student could earn money while in college by entering a part time job during her free hours. if she is in college she could work during the day where she have no classes. this is a part time job such as being a sales clerk, or providing tutorial those student who need a tutor. or she could become a freelance writer or just post here she could earn income at the same time learning other things.

i am agree for this topice.if you earn enough money by working online thats great ,but you can look around and do something part time . when i live most students find job throug a student work agency , they are supposed to be flexible as they know that your main duty is your studies. but cnm checksame stats too and see if they.

Well there are a great number of options to get you started. Tasks sites like Fiverr pay you if you are really good at anything, bux and survey sites are also there to earn that extra amount. A part time job in Crosswords or a burger shop would also help. Creating a great software and selling it online pays off your graduation definitely. Enjoy!

I'm in college as well and for a while, online was where I earned extra money. I used sites like swagbucks, inbox dollars, survey sites, and slicethepie. It wasn't huge amounts of money, just 10 bucks here and there. Even when I make payout in myLot, it's only 12 or 13 dollars. I applied to a bunch of jobs and now I'm working at Victoria's Secret. If you're having trouble finding a job, try looking on your college campus. They usually have jobs that they offer to students. There also should be a psychology department and they have experiments going all the time and they'll pay you money or give you gift cards for participating.

If you can earn enough money by working online, that's great, but you can look around and do something part-time. Where I live most students find job through a students' work agency, they are supposed to be flexible, as they know that your main duty is your studies (hm, from my experience, they are NOT, but I depended on them, as I had to pay rent). You can check some stores too and see if they have a part time job for you.

I feel yah..I'm in college too. I've been searching for two years on ways to earn money online. I get it. You don't have a lot of time. My classes are probably even weirder than yours. I have a class that goes from 5:30 to 8:30 pm and another class on a Saturday. I'm in organizations, and I volunteer. I don't have much time. I find that you have to really know out what you're good at. If you're primarily on mylot to make extra cash, you should find another site. You have to be willing to try different things. I started writing for some websites. You don't have to write but you should enjoy what you do at least a little. I also started learning how to edit videos and use photoshop. I just watch tutorials and do it on spare time. When you have skills, you feel at ease because you have options for making money. If you just want to share your opinion and earn money while doing it, I got a great website for you..but I can't share it here or I might get flagged. I'm not an expert but I could give you tips from my experience...message me if you're interested.
