this is a very controversial question. no end of times i have been laying in bed and tried to visualise what it would be like to die. many times i think its similar to not dreaming when you sleep. but then i think to myself, if im dead thats its permanent. how do we know that were really dead and not a dream. do we actually feel anything after we die. do we still dream, since were just a bunch of cells whats to say we still dont live in them? this is not about the religious side of the equation more the literal feeling side of it as body and mind, not sole

hi thorn. how do we know? the long and short of it... never! there is a theory that all the information in the universe is encased in an holgraphic skin that resides at the edges of our universe where it meets another dimension, now according to physics energy cannot be created or destroyed, but it changes form. so if consciousness is an energy field it would probably dissapte into this holographic 'heaven' if you will!! i have no idea what it may be like but the capcity to dream may still exsist.

Hello Thornhunt, I think its lot of pain when a person is about to die.No body can experience this pain it can only be felt by the person who is about to die.Though what happens after someone die is still a mystery and is not known yet.

hmm but howcome the pain ? would it be because all the organisms and cells or the individuals mind knows its going to cease to be, and therefore gives one last burst to break free givving the feeling of being ripped apart ?

I think when soul comes out of the body it does pain a lot.I have read it some where but there is no such proof of it.And i have seen people when they die they always have a face like they have lot of pain in the body.
