My neighbor should train his dog

That is just had gone uncontrollable. Last time, my father already warn my next door neighbor not to let his dog to poop in our front yard, and had him to pick up those messes his dog left behind. Yesterday, I saw my father once again walk up to my neighbor and point out a spot that he should clean up for his dog. He apologized to my father and get a plastic bag to pick it up. Now, not just our front yard, but my another neighbor's front yard also had his dog's mess left behind, and people just won't tolerate it. Somehow, this neighbor should train his dog or lock it up. Or other people have better suggestions for his dog?

It's not the dog that needs to be trained, but the owner. It's completely disrespectful.

King, i think the only solution to your problem is, try to talk to your neighbor regarding this problem again. I am sure your neighbor will felt ashamed if his neighbor keep talking to him regarding his dog matter. And i am sure he will do his best to solve this matter. My family have a dog, too. And we never allowed it to roam our neighbor's garden. We always make sure that it does its business within our own compound.

It is a natural thing for the dog to do (and for us to do for that matter! ) It is very simple. If you let your dog poo in a place that is not in your back yard you clear it up. And second, when your dog asks to be let out you know exactly why. So you either fence off the back yard or you take it out on a lead and give him lots of praise when he poos in a regular area. Then each day you clean up that area and bury the poo. Nature is quite capable of processing and re-cycling the poo - it has been doing it for millions of years! You just need to place the poo where it doesn't interfeer with other people. Set the dogs on this owner! haha It gives us responsible owners a bad name.

My husband and I experience a similar problem. A dog that belongs to one of our neighbours likes to play in our garden and it also poops in our garden. If it happened just once we wouldn't have a big deal after out of it, but it happens over and over. We know who the dog belongs to and we have talked to the owner, but that doesn't seem to change to the situation, and we are going to talk to her one more time. I think that she should keep the dog on a leash instead of letting it in run around in other people's gardens. We have a dog, too, but we would never let him run around outside our garden, I think it is the dog owner's responsibity to keep the dog away from the neighbours' gardens. I don't really have any suggestions for you except talking to the owner again. Make it absolutely clear that you won't put up with the behaviour and if it doesn't work you might have to call the police.

Porco, hope your dog is not the fierce type. I won't dare to visit you in future, if i come to Denmark. Hope you have trained it well. I likes to play with dogs that are cute and friendly.

Our dog is not fierce He is very friendly and very active. He is only a few years old and he loves to play. He is a golden retriever. I read in your response below that you also have a dog, what breed is your dog?

Many people have dogs that really shouldn't I think. If they cannot be bothered to train the dog to say the very least, to do its business in their own yard, then really they don't deserve to really have one. Sadly, there are no bad dogs, but there are many bad or just lazy owners. And the dogs don't really know any better if their master does not rather solve the example. It is rather absurd. And the longer the behavior goes unchecked, the longer it is rather going to take to correct. That is just really the fact of the matter. Sadly there are many irresponsible dog owners. They really should keep the pet in the yard, and keep it on a leash when it is off the property, correctly the behavior when they try and do their business elsewhere.

Where I live, you're not allowed to let your dog roam at large.People do it anyways. You're neighbor should be a good neighbor and keep his dog in his own yard.Thats so rude that he lets his dog poop in other people's yards.Definately should be on a leash or a fenced in yard on his property. I had that problem with a neighbor that lived next door to me.I got lucky and they finally moved out. That solved that problem.I used to fight with them. I told them about their dog pooping in my yard and they got angry. The stupid animal control guy didn't do anything about it.They never leashed their dog up or watched where it wandered off to,of corse it constantly wandered into my yard everytime, which irritated me. I'm happy they moved.

Well, the suggestions I have are common sense. Either the neighbor should just walk his dog like most people with a leash and after he poops, clean it up. Or he should have the dog go in the yard and have a fence around the yard.

If he can't train his dog and be responsible for it then he should not keep the dog. It is so disrespectful to others when he doesn't clean up after his dog. You should warn him that if this happens again then you will inform the cops and that he might have to pay a fine for it too...
