I used to next to a river and on it there can sometimes be swans and ducks. I love swans and ducks. If I have bread with me I feed it to the lovely ducks and swans. I like to see a mother duck with her ducklings in the spring time. I find the look of a signet, a baby swan, interesting. They grow up to look amazingly beautiful. Do you live near a river that is pleasant to walk along the pathway of? Is it fun for you to feed ducks and swans when you see them?

Haven't see ducks for a long time. During my childhood, when having summer in my grandparents house in the province, together with my cousins we always went to the river side to play, watch some ducks to play and trying to chase them but the river is quite deep for us as kids.

I live in London, and there are millions of parks where I could go to feed the birds, some places it is however illegal, you can find signs saying don't feed the birds or wildlife, or on the entrance on a board, though despite a fine, most people are so used to doing it that they ignore it. I must admit I love feeding the ducks, geese, swans, squirrels... The squirrels are particularly fun, I'll try to get it to take the food out my hand but I did see a guy get bitten doing this once so I try to let go as soon as it grabs it and do get worried if it tries to take a sniff of my fingers. The other birds are also nice to feed, they all come swimming towards you and I love seeing the techniques they have to eat, some like to dip any dry bread they catch on the edge of the water into the water, sometimes the bread is a bit hard so I guess it softens it, however some do it even with soft bread, so maybe it's just a personal choice. The geese make me laugh and run sometimes, hehehe, once I started to feed one, then there was two, then there was a flock of 50 running towards me, and even though they might be harmless I've seen enough videos of them biting people to get the food that I just tossed everything away from me and run away :P it was fun though. I think it's a very relaxing activity. The only down side is if like me you're not very motivated to do things, then even though I enjoy it, I don't do it enough. I've been keeping the leftover cereal not chocolate but the healthy ones like whole-wheat and such to give to them when I next go, just waiting for someone to go with me :)

We lived near a river for the last ten years where there were lots of ducks and turtles to be seen in the river. There were lots of paths going along side the river and this made an ideal spot to walk, ride or play. Now we live in a more heavily forested area in a valley where there is a creek, but it is not quite as park like. More natural so it is hard to get good access to the creek. There are a few rock pools upstream not too far away, but no ducks there! We do have some geese that we drive past every day. They hang out along side of the road all the time feeding on the grass, insects and worms. They are always out there and sometimes they cross the road so you have to stop to let them past. They get all angry at you too when they do that. They honk at you as if you have no right to be driving along the road! Really funny stuff!

I think slow and rhythmic movements and calm nature of ducks are attracting me. It matches to to calm beauty of river and its sides. Indeed ducks are pleasant to see, especially in flock.

I don't live near a pond or river but the town my parents live in is lovely. There is across the street from their apartment a nice park with a river in the middle and last summer when I visited them, we walked in the park and there were lots of little ducks and a few swans swimming in the river. It was comical to watch the little ducks swimming after their mother and sometimes one would be left behind and we watched him swim as fast as he could to try and catch up with mother and the other ducklings. We fed them some old bread crumbs and they really come a little closer and really enjoyed it. All the other birds in the park came too hoping to get some bread. It was a lovely time in my life, for sure.

Some years ago I worked in a kindergarten. There was a lake with ducks close to the kindergarten, and we often visited that place with the children. The children loved it and they always asked us: "When are we going to feed the ducks again?" It was a nice activity for both children and adults. My grandmother and I used to feed the ducks when I was a child. We collected the old bread that we had and then we went to the lake to feed the ducks. There is a big lake in the city where I grew up, and there were always a lot of ducks. I also enjoyed our visits there.

I live by the Mississippi river, so I see ducks sometimes. But mainly I just see Geese, or a Goose, I don't know the plural of that.. . I don't feed them though. Those things are vicious! As much as I love nature, I really don't like these creatures. I have had one chase after me before, when I was a kid (I must have been taunting it in some way - oops) and it was probably the scariest thing in my life! But I like ducks. They are usually in the water, though, and not usually walking around.
