The wax didn't budge

I got some wax from walmart and heated it up just now to what it said to do it at, it's not budged. It says not to exceed two minutes, but I got pretty darn close to it by trying to get it to warm, it still hasn't budged. Not sure what to do, I don't see that it will hurt it to try it for longer, but I don't want to damage it and thus my skin in the process. The 800 number is closed until 8 or 9 in the morning. Im irritated. What would you do?

I just want to thank you for this discussion not being about ear wax. I'm reading more and more posts from people who are talking about very intimate and gross details about their lives, and on behalf of the people who don't want to know about gross bodily functions, thank you.

No problem! I wouldn't post a nasty discussion like that. Though now that I read my title here, you may think it would be about ear wax.

Hi there SomeCowGirl, Really now that is very dangerous, since you are going to apply it on you, I suggest to be careful and wait till you can talk to someone from customer service to help you out since this can go wrong for you anyway take care and take it easy.

I'd shave. To heck with hot wax. I'd call the store where I got it and tell them the stuff doesn't work. I bought more stuff from Walmart for a homebound friend that didn't work and I had to stand in line and bring back. I wanted to brain him.

It's facial hair, i won't wax it. Standing in line at the return counter for walmart, or even just dealing witht hem can be a real pain. They get so defensive.

I bet you are. I would definitely wait and call them. Is there any date on it? Sometimes there is a 'Best If Used By' date on some products. Good luck!

If you're talking about wax for hair removal, I never buy it from Walmart, I bought a melting pot, wax, the sticks and muslim strips from sally and that works great for me, for less that $50 I have been able to several waxing sessions and anywhere, face, bikini, legs. Its not that hard, but professional wax will work better and a melting pot helps heat it up just enough without damaging the wax and without burning your skin.

All this cost you about $50? how much does the replacement wax and more strips cost? I may look into getting it in the future. The kit I have, theres only enough wax for maybe once or twice if that.

Wow!! Wax that does not melt when heated up? Never heard of this. I would be a little irritated and frustrated if it was me as well. I know that when it comes to wax especially if you are wanting to make candles, etc. you want it to be able to cooperate with you and such. Hope you were able to get a solution and try some in the process that worked.

I think I would go ahead and heat it some more if it's still stiff and you can't do anything with it. I would be careful not to get it too hot though. I would be calling them in the morning if it still doesn't do right..it might be old. Is there an expiration date?

I would never want to try waxing my legs! It sounds to painful! It amazes me how some woman can do this! I understand why a person would do it. Not for me! I rather shave my legs with a Venus razor or use Nair hair remover on my legs! Your discussion also reminds me of a TLC program on ER stories I recently saw. One was of a guy who was high and drunk when he came to the ER. The fool was naked and had catus needles all over his body! When the doctor couldn't pull anymore of the needles out with a tweezers,he used wax to get most of the other needles out! That was crazy! Sometimes waxing comes in handy!
