Sometimes I think that the movies which won the Oscar Awards don't mean they are very popular movies. And even some of them are quite boring in my opinion. Do you know any good and popular movies which also won the Oscar Rewards?

Ya, there is a side view of her looking out the window and you get a good view of her jowls and so forth. Very realistic.

Considering when it was made, Ben Hur won 11 oscars in 1959. It is still an awesome movie even for so long ago it was made. My favorite all time movie Gone with the Wind made in 1939 won 8 oscars. And another favorite of mine is West Side Story (1961) with 10 oscars. As you can tell Oscar has been around since the time movies started coming out! Titanic in 1997 also won some oscars. Check out some of your favorite movies and you may be surprised to find out it didn't win an oscar or 2.

Thank you for best response. I had to laugh when you mentioned Brave Heart. That movie is going to follow me to my grave LOL I was a theater manager and had to learn to make up and break down the reels on the platters at the theater i worked in. We got in the trailer for the soon to be released Braveheart. We are supposed to place the trailers on foot to head. That mean the end of the trailer went on first with the head (beginning) last. So as it ran it went correctly in sequence. Well I got the trailer out and proceeded to place the trailer on before the movie. Whoever placed the trailer on the reel placed it head to foot so when the trailer was running it was showing the trailer upside down. I was standing up in the projection room and heard twitters of laughter and could not figure out why the audience would be laughing and looked through the opening and there was Mel Gibson standing upside down on the mountain. Although it was not my fault it was placed on the trailer wrong have to admit it was embarressing but evidently on the way out the audience thought it pretty sensational! Needless to say everyone coming out got a free movie ticket to come back because of the slip. Thanks again for the memory LOL

It is very seldom for me, that I don't like a movie that wins best picture at the oscars... the best picture winner is often the winner of the most awards, and its a fantastic movie, all round. Some of my top favorites of the past while were Slumdog Millionaire, The Departed, Lord of the Rings, Gladiator, American Beauty, Silence of the Lambs, Forrest Gump... All of those, just incredible movies, and that's exactly why they won so many awards, the top being Best Picture.

highly commended "The Reader". it's a good movie. My friends and i watched it together at night and it shocked our hearts intensely. it's about Nazi and the actress is Kate Winslet.

If your into romance, try Phantom of the opera and Slumdog Millionaire, cinematography are best no wonder both won Oscar Best Picture. If your genre is action, try The Departed which based on the Japanese movie Infernal Affairs. But if your into story, I suggest try watching Asian films specially Japanese and South Korean movies. I'm telling you they're the best. A lot of their stories are unpredictable.
