I remember "Dallas" being a hit show back when I was in High school, but I was never a fan,and beyond being aware of the Main Cast would hardly have a clue about the storylines back in the day..so,will this be "Dallas (The Next Generation)" or will enough of the old cast still be around to have the old fans tuning in for the Nostalgia?

I'd have thought the show had run it's course back then when it's taken them so long to start it up again...maybe it's the fad for rebooted TV shows or Homage Movies that makes the producers think this will work again...you never know...

From what the previews say JR is Larry Hagman (80yrs old) & Bobby (Patrick Duffy) & Sue Ellen (Don't know her real name) and the kids are all grown so we will see. It seems that TV has come back with a lot of re-make of old shows

I do not count myself as a fan, but I have nothing against this TV show either. I used to watch it when I was a kid. I don't remember exactly how old I was though, probably around 10. It is an interesting thing that Dallas is coming back. Maybe I'll re-watch it someday and watch the new series when/if it airs in my part of the world.

You have found a fan of Dallas. The show was on a lot of years and I'm glad to see them back again. Its good to see what the future brings to a television show and I'm hoping the show does well. I know my youngest daughter, who was born when the show was airing will be watching with me.

Friday nights I was so happy to see Dallas. I remember that the longest summer I ever spent was waiting for them to tell me who shot J.R.! It was the first night time soap and the best one. I may not see the new Dallas. I'm really hard on remakes.

I'm planning on giving the new series a chance...it's quite cool that they're bringing back Larry Hagman, Patrick Duffy, and Linda Gray. However, I suspect the younger stars are going to get much of the attention (on IMDB, Hagman, Duffy, and Gray are listed way down on the credits!) so the show will probably thrive or fail based on their efforts. They'll have some tough shoes to fill, that's for sure. I remember my parents watching the original Dallas regularly; I was a bit too young to follow all the twists and turns, but I loved the theme song and do remember some of the basic details of the show. I plan on getting it on DVD eventually...will be interesting to see how familiar it seems to me after all these years!
