(I just wanted to start the discussion to see who that phrase might strike a chord with...
)
If you weren't around at the time to remember the show,"The Goodies" was a mid 70's British Comedy TV series that featured 3 Guys,Tim Brooke Taylor,Graeme Garden,and Bill Oddie..(They changed TV channels during the run..)
The plan was they were available to help "Anyone,Anytime",and they got into some surreal situations with comic results..
"Bunfight at the OK Tearooms" was their take on the western Genre,when there had been a Goldmine type "Cream Mine" discovery,with all the landgrabbing and backstabbing that goes on in that situation..check out some of the clips from the shows on youtube!
There's a new organic snack food product on the Market that's advertising here with the "Goodies" Theme tune in the background..Making me reminisce on the show! I know Bill Oddie,who's better known these days as a Naturalist and Ornithologist (Remember the Show with the Dodo?!
) had done some voiceover work since..I think it would have been amazing if they'd gotten one of the Guys to do the voiceover for the ad!
Would you remember the Goodies? did this new ad bring you back memories of the show,or would "back in the day" comedy interest you?

I live in the US and I don't recall this show. I do remember Di.ck Van Dy.ke and several silly ones. I watch a channel here that has several british comedies on it. Makes you wonder who wrote such stuff.

Cambridge University's "Footlights" Amateur Dramatic Club was the source of many of the writers and performers of a wave of Brit based Satirical and Comedy TV (And Earlier,Radio) shows such as "The Goodies","Monty Python",and others like this..Looking up the Wikipedia listing for past members,I see Hugh Laurie (House MD) ,Douglas Adams (Hitchhiker's guide to the Galaxy) and Sasha Baron Cohen (Ali G,Borat) among many others!

Monty Python was great! I don't recognize any of the others.

You might not enjoy medical themed TV shows? Hugh Laurie's "House" Series is currently airing in its 8th Season on US TV..the Name's apparently a gag on "Sherlock Holmes",as He's a medical mystery solver...
"Hitchhikers" is/was a popular scifi/comedy book series that became serialised first on radio,then transferred to BBC TV,and Most recently a Movie version was Made..
