My wonderful daughter in law, had a brother who died not long ago of a brain deterioration for which they couldn't really find a cause, because this was such a strange thing the science of medicine ask for his brain to study. This was requested and oked by him before his thinking was so clouded that he could no longer
function. So this brain has been sent to UK for a special study. Now they are requesting all documentation that can be found about his relatives. So we are on a search for those people, and their health records. This is leading us all the way around the country and so far we have found people back to the 1750s. Of course once we find them then the fun begins. To find their life stories. It's a real challange, but it's what really get's Hubby's brian going. Wish us luck, who knows what help this information will be to saving others from the same fate.

Well, it seems he now has a famous brain. I find that odd in this day in age for them not to be able to find a cause. I am sure that finding the family history will be a big task even with all this technology and the many websites. It would be interesting to actually find out the cause of his brain problem.

Wow..you are on a mission for sure. I would love to research family records. It is a great cause too. Your family's findings might save a lot of people from the same fate. The brain is still widely misunderstood and there are a lot of genetic link being found to things. Good luck!

I think tracing family history when it has a purpose is fun as well as helpful. It sounds like this is a great hobby that also will keep your brains busy and healthy. Good luck. It may be interesting to see what you have to report. I, of course, thought of Creutzfeld-Jakobs disease, but they would have been able to tell that. I think that the brain is much more intricate than we even imagine.

Saving people's lives, now that's a use for a family tree that I could get into. Our tree is most of Northern NY state, some of VT and lots of Quebec, Canada. A few went to Nebraska. Good luck and take care.

Your family is going quite an amazing job. I hope it helps other people but I´m sure your DILs family will also have the special reward of learning about their forefathers. Congratulations for a caring job!
