I have lost count of the number of times I have watched The Godfather Triology. In fact they are again showing all three tonight on Sony Pix and I simply cant resist watching it yet again - my own favorite is the first one with Marlon Brando.I feel that it is one of the best roles ever played by a male actor. He was simply amazing and flawless in his performance as The Godfather...friends, please share your views

Actually I was not aware that Godfather 2 also won the Best Picture Oscar, of course the first one won many awards at the Oscar..I wonder if we could hope to watch any movie of that calibre in the present or the future ?

maybe because part 1 and 2..are just 2 years apart..and not far from the main storyline..while part 3 is about 20years later..and storyline starts when Al pacino is really old.. beside that..both 1 and 2 Godfather..are the only film in the world..where both sequels won BEst Picture Oscar.. in 1970 1972...if u havent know that.. ;)

It's hard to believe that the studio wanted Ernest Borgnine or Danny Thomas to play Don Corleone. Coppola also considered Laurence Olivier but he was told that the actor was very sick at the time. Brando turned out to be perfect in the role. The three movies tell the complete story but I think that the first one was the best.

None of those actors would be able to do justice to that role except probably Lawrence Olivier who was a grand actor in his own way...But , as of now after having seen Marlon Brando perform one cannot imagine anyone else in the role of Godfather !all the best and thanks a lot for your response

The best is the first one I think. The story is very good and I love the crimes and the hidden agendas among the families. I think I've seen the series twice only.

I like "The God Father" too. I watched the movies because of Marlon Brando and Al Pacino. The story is interesting too. It is hard to choose a favorite from the three as I tend to take all three are a whole story. But I am always moved with Michael's hurt of losing his loved ones. People that are involved in crimes are destined to be lonely and their life will never be a fulfilled one.

Hi jkct, thanks a lot for your response what you say is so true, people realise the value of relationships only when it is too late.Al Pacino is simply brilliant in all 3 films especially the last one where he is old and vulnerable...Brilliant films all
