Honestly, I do not know exactly what causes hiccups. All I know when I have hiccups I will drink water and it will be relieved. For about 3 times I observed, I got hiccups after I ate something oily or fatty. Example, a dish with lots of oil like tinola soup with lots of chicken fats floating on the soup or I ate a fried pork skin. The more fats I ate the more terrible the hiccups but since i just eat them occasionally my hiccups are rare also.

LOL Hope you are ok now, it has so many reasons to trigger a hiccup, what you say might be one of that.

Definitely, I confirmed it today. I don't have hiccups for a long time and yesterday I ate a pack of pork fats and today I had terrible hiccup. Fats causes hiccups for me.

Never noticed that before. Hiccups are mysterious to me.
