Today I learned a new term online and it is called "sugar father". It is not like a real father or godfather. This word especially describes an old rich man who regards a young girl as his "daughter" but actually they have an affair. I don't know what it is called in English. People discussed this word here and it seems that "sugar father" is a suitable word. Doesn't it?

The filthy rich old man is popularly known as 'sugar daddy' to many young ladies. He may not have the looks of tom cruise yet many young ladies stick to him like leeches as his generosity in splashing his richness make him the darling of these gold diggers!

I think it is best known as 'sugar daddy'. The 'father' makes it sound weird to me. Suitable? I don't know about that. I have heard and seen this alot down through the years. Interesting concept if you are asured of the others reasons.

It is a hot word in China now. It is also famous with "skirt as short as B". "Sugar father" is always with young girls, they get money and other things from their sugar father. Sugar father has the same function as god father. But in real world, sugar father is more than its definition.

Ha ha, "sugar daddy" is generally the term we use to describe a person like that. I have never met one in my 21 years of living but I hear they are out there.

Since father means daddy, and probably this is why we think sugar father is as well as sugar daddy

yes! the word SUGAR DADDY has come to stay since quite sometime. However I would not vouchsafe for the word being included in the general perspective of good English language vocabulary.

I guess it has the same meaning as sugar daddy which is the common word used instead of sugar father. It's almost the same as sugar mommy, wherein older rich woman preferred to have an affair with man much more younger than them. Older rich man preferred younger woman.

I know father and daddy are synonymous but "sugar father" kinda sound weird for me. Here in our place, it is "sugar daddy". Well for me, a sugar daddy is like a pedophile because they want a relationship with a younger girl. But sugar daddies don't force the girl to be in that relationship. The girl is willing because of the financial gain. I can say that in this scenario the sugar daddy gets companionship and the girl gets money. Kinda sad when you think about it.

"sugar father" is also called "sugar daddy". It means a usually old male who is dating a usually younger female and giving her a lot of gifts and money like a father might give to his daughter.

hi youless you are very close. here in the US we call them sugar daddies because of the older age of the man and the very young age of the girl. they usually marry or have a relationship where she is the arm candy he likes to brag about to the men whom the rich old guy works with.Sugar meaning gifts like money and jewelry and fur coats and anything her little heart wants as long as she is there for him sexually.to me she is disgusting for being kept like that and she is usually very pretty and has the IQ of a moron. The whole situation to me is immoral and debasing to the older man and the young woman.

I think the same. It is wrong for an old man to have a relationship with a young girl and it is all about money.

I have not heard the term sugar father but there is another word in English and it is Sugar Daddy. This is a rich older man who goes after younger men or younger girls and has a relationship with them.Basically it is the same as what you have written.
