Dear friend, forgive me for saying so, but I've never heard such a thing. I understand enough electricity since they graduated in electronics. One thing you do for sure is that a storm could cause power surges, and this might damage the equipment. But we always talk about electricity. The internet connection (I still do not know if you have a ADSL or a internet-key or other ..) I do not believe in what manner may be affected by rain. At least to me personally, in certain circumstances, although it was raining cats and dogs have not noticed any slowdown in my connection.

I believe he uses either a wifi connection or a mobile broad band (USB modem based) internet connection. Wired ADSL connection will not affected by rain.

That is my problem too, I'm using a wireless internet connection and everytime it rains, the speed decreases a lot. I'm thinking of switching to cable already, I heard it's a lot better, and really fast. I'm just waiting to finish my contract with them, I still have four months to go, but I can't wait.

For sure it has nothing to do with the rain, rain doesn't cause anything on internet connections, but many other things can and your case may be there. In the worst case, if the rain comes with lightnings they can blow up some equipment on your house or ISP, that would cause your internet to be completely down, but slower is hard to believe it has to do with the rain.

Then it's the right time to close your browser and doing something else I always did it everytime my internet went slower, anyway..

The rain or snow or just bad weather can affect your internet but when the bill doesn't get paid in time like it was with me , you don't have any internet for a while. It was somebody's responsibility to pay the internet bill and it wasn't paid in time so I had to go without the net for a while. Anyway, got it now, so that's good.

I don't blame you. I also get frustrated whenever there's rain and it cuts my internet connection off. I hate it the most especially when I'm having fun and the rain just prevents me from accessing online. Or whenever I am posting a comment or discussion in MyLot and it just happens to rain and whoosh, my connection to the internet is gone like magic. The next thing I knew, I don't feel like I'm in a good mood.

I use ADSL, using cable, so the rain doesn't affect it speed. What i hate about rain is, when it happened a few minute before office hour end. When it happened, it usually create traffic jam all around the street. But overall, i don't really complain much when rain happened at other time. As long as when it happened i still inside a building.

Weather of all sorts can sadly play all kinds of havoc on any technology. The Internet has been knocked out a time or two during a storm but thankfully it is a rare occurrence. It has also been taken out during the brightest, most sunny days. Then you have squirrels who are playing in the power boxes that are a recurring problem so it is not just the weather that is going to cause technology to fail or at least be supremely slowed down. The radio stations can be hard to tune into under certain circumstances. Storm conditions are not ideal to broadcast signals were and if the signal is being broadcast right into the line of fire, whether for radio, Internet, or television, it is going to be something that is going to be bad. It is a minor inconvenience when it does in fact happen for sure but it is really not something that we can do that much about, other than be frustrated about. Which I am when it happens.

You are not the only one experiencing that. Just be patient. Internet connection are usually affected by rain especially when you are using wireless broadbands wherein the radio frequency is generally affected by the rain. try to do other stuffs so that you will divert your attention to others instead on the slow internet connection.

May I ask if your using wireless connection for your internet, broadband for example. I think wireless connection is more susceptible to interference when it rains. Try switching to wired internet connection like DSL.

While the rain is a blessing to earth and all creatures on it, true that it could interfere with your internet connection. Just enjoy the rain and give yourself sometime to break from your online activities. Who know you would find some brilliant ideas while watching the rain and listening to the water drops :)
