What if they made vegitable flavored ice-cream??

I was thinking, fruit flavored ice cream tastes great, but what if they made it taste like vegitables? There is already one, pumpkin. And pumpkin ice cream may be one of the greatest things in all the world(the greatest thing in the world would be ice cream itself.) Which kind would you want or be willing to try? Chef Gordan Ramsey apperantly has made vegitable ice cream for kids and I don't think any kid is going to eat it. Especially not broccoli flavored. That just doesn't sound right. I imagine tomato would be pretty bad too. Carrot might be ok (if the can use it in cokkies and cakes then why not ice cream) I would be really intrested in tasting sweet potato or corn ice cream. If it is sweet corn I imagine it would probably be pretty good. What vegitable flavor would you want to try?

The only vegetable ice cream that I have tried is Malunggay ice cream. It is made from the nutritious plant of Moringa oleifera. Also, the sweetener used for the ice cream was honey, which makes it very delicious. Also, the cone where the ice cream is to be eaten was also from vegetables. Now that is a healthy dessert craving treat. It really tasted good. As for the other vegetables, I haven't heard any of them yet out in the market. Hmmm...Maybe those vegetarians out there would love a dose of their vegetables in their ice cream.

For some reason I find humor in the fact that the person above you mentioned Malunggay ice cream?

Haha! I think that she is from the same country as I am. Well, I think I should persuade her to try the Malunggay ice cream as it tastes good, a far cry from her assumptions.

Its for the first time I am hearing of a thing like vegetable ice-cream.But if they come up with any vegetable ice-cream then i would like to taste carrot ice cream as i think it would be great taste and i like carrot very much. Then i would also like to taste ladyfinger ice-cream, but it sounds something bad but would like to taste it.I also think that if they come with vegetable ice-cream then the kids are not going to eat it as they don't like vegetables that much and so they will not like it in the ice-cream form also.Lets see when they do come out with what happens.

Actually I tried making this at home, what we need to get is only a vanilla and home made carrot juice. Pour the carrot juice on the top of vanilla ice cream as topping. it taste really good.

wow! that sounds like a good idea. here in the philippines, i think they already have tried that... i have even heard some trying to make malunggay leaves into ice cream. i am just not sure though if it was a hit, maybe not! haha but then tomato would really be just as bad. imagine a frozen ketchup in your fridge! haha carrots may pass, or pumpkin because these are sweet vegetables, after all.

Well if it was made with real vegetables instead of just the flavoring then vegetable ice cream would be healthy for you. But I dont think any vegetable flavor would make a good ice cream flavor at all. It just sounds disgusting. My kids would never eat it and I dont think I would want to try it myself either lol.

Ahh you are right I forgot about that one. I've had pumpkin pie ice cream before it was really good. I think it might have had marshmallows in it as well but I cant remember. I think I bought it around thanksgiving one year when they had all different kinds of pumpkin things out. I hate that that stuff only is for sale once a year then I crave it the rest of the year lol. I dont think celery ice cream or broccoli ice cream or any of the other vegetables would make good ice cream though.

I know, it sucks. But at least there is something to look forward to every September. There's birthday cake ice cream for the 4th of July which I also love and it is only around in the summer (which is in two more months Hurray!!) the rest of the year it's cookies and cream.

Tomato. Yeah i know its considered a fruit by some standards, but it still taste like a veggie. I've heard about that flavor of ice cream since a long time ago and always wanted to try it. Plus I think it would be easier to eat than something like broccoli or carrot. Only thing is it would have to be sweetened because I just think that's how ice cream should be. I'm not going to eat it otherwise.

You could freeze ketchup I suppose. It's sweet. I'm not sure I'd eat it but now that someone mentioned it I want to try it.

yah why not, fruit flavored ice cream has been in the market for so many years now and if there will be vegetable flavor it might get not so positive reactions but if ever it will taste good then it might be patronized still by the buying public, who could have thought that ampalaya chips would taste soooo good, who could have thought that alot of our vegetables now are being created as a snack? if you have not tasted either please do try it out nice!!! go to healthy options you can have alot of selections there. lets get healthy people for a longer life perhaps.

While I am not sure vegitable ice cream would be any good (besides pumpkin) my curiosity would win over and I would most deffinately try it.

There are vegetable flavored icecreams. The malunggay and ampalaya flavored vegetarian ice creams are popular here. But I dont like the taste. When I buy ice cream I always buy the double dutch or rocky road, they are my favorites.

Never thought of that. Pumpkin might be a good one since it's one of the little sweet vegetables, well maybe sweet potatoes might be could. The rest of it would need lots of sougar in it :P

You know. There's an asian product called Azuki Beans. You might think, BEANS!?. But actually, they taste wonderful! There is a dessert called dorayaki which is typical from Japan, and it's made of azuki beans! First time I heard about it I thought "what the..." but then I tasted it and it's heaven. I would love to eat a azuki bean ice cream.

OMG you have a picture of a hamster! I'm not a bean person however I could see bean ice cream working out due to their teture. Not with all of the beans though.

Here in the Philippines, there are stores selling organic ice creams with vegetable flavors. The most popular and in demand is the malunggay or moringa flavor. The color is green, just like the vegetable but it tastes really good. If you're not very comfortable, you can have it mixed with another more common flavor like chocolate or buko(c0c0).

Sweet corn and carrot ice-cream anyone? Pumpkin ice-cream sounds good too. I don't think I want broccoli flavored ice-cream. It will probably be tasteless. If I want to try it would be the 3 flavors I mentioned above.
