Permanent FALSE TEETH? Or You Still Have Them All Completely?

Hiya myLotters and friends! Yesterday, my stepdaughter Joan while she was about to do her regular toothbrushing uttered, "I wonder when false teeth expires?" She just meant, for how long a denture can be used normally or if there's really an expiration for false teeth. It could be a joke for her but I guess she just simply tired of removing and cleaning and putting it back again and again everytime she needs to brush her teeth. So if you have dentures, do you feel tired of the same routine everyday, remove-brush-put it back, again and again? Have you wished your teeth are still complete and when you have lost one, you can replace it with another permanent tooth? Something like, permanent dentures? ~~ NEILâ„¢~~

I have full dentures, ever since i was in my fourth year college. Before that, i would usually experience toothache and have partial dentures that keep on changing and adding teeth as denture. Hence, i developed fear of the tooth injection, that the last time i had a tooth extracted, i decided to have the wisdom teeth extracted as well as the other good ones (but would soon also decay) . Thus, from then on , i have full dentures, which i would have a new set made sometimes every 4 years or even more than that. At least now, i won't ever fear having a toothache and be injected in my gums.

oh, you're too young to have full dentures. but if that was really needed to other than having toothache everytime. but don't you feel some kinda awkward or you are already just used to it? and i guess, if you only have better teeth and didn't have toothache a lot of times, you still wish they are still complete?

oh yeah, as i was reading, i just cant believe too that you have full dentures. you look so young to be having full dentures. have you also thought that maybe you have a problem with your calcium because of what happened to your teeth? i had a classmate in high school whose teeth were all so damaged and also we found out that all of her siblings too got dentures and they were so young. my classmates and i just couldn't understand why, but maybe it is a problem in the family like it is hereditary, i don't know.

@cherish: you just made me think about my brother-in-law. he doesn't have full dentures but he has, not just a couple of false teeth. his father and his sister also got dentures. and so as his daughter who is only 16 years old but already have a few of her teeth removed so by this time, i think they are planning to have her own dentures... so there could be cases that we can say, it runs in the family.

Usually you take them out at night. It is a routine but so should your original teeth be. I have very few of my teeth left and wish I could get dentures. The routine to take care of them would be fine with me. They are permanent but I think you see a dentist occasionally just to be sure they are fitted correctly.

talking about "expiration" thing, only the dentist could tell. and whether we have dentures or not, we should see the dentist regularly.

They do have permanent dentures, they are implants, however, to have every tooth done that way is very expensive. They cost, depending on where you go, $500 per tooth, they implant a post into the gums and then the 'tooth' is permanently set on that post. My mom has had upper denture for as far back as I can remember, and it is still good. They don't 'expire' unless you have some problem with it and need it replaced, I have had mine, full set, for a year now...and it doesn't bother me at all. I have a 'perfect' smile now!

that's really expensive and only rich people can afford implants. we poor people have to take good care of our teeth cause even if we want have our teeth back when they went bad and removed, we can only rely on removal dentures. you mean by "full set", all your teeth were gone now and you have complete up and down dentures? at least you have that perfect smile now.

I'm glad I still have my original teeth. I think I will grow old without the need to have false teeth. I mean at my age and having those strong teeth, I think I will have them till I die. I think and as I observed, having or using false teeth is not easy. One must clean it all the times, I bet more than we used to brush our teeth.

hi there, i don't have dentures and my teeth are still complete including my wisdom teeth hehehe. whenever i go to the dentists, they say i have very nice and good set of teeth and it makes me proud. i just have to take very good care of them because i see people having tooth aches and it makes me feel bad for them because they are in so much pain. oh and yeah, i see my mom do that too, she brushes them too and then put them back hehehe, but i know it is a good way to get rid or the dirt

wow, that's great. i really envy people with perfect smile, with their teeth still complete. i have two molars missing already so it makes my other teeth move and so the gaps between the other teeth become more noticeable as time goes by. i hate it but i do not want to have false teeth. i don't know how it feels to have dentures but still i don't want to know.

hmmmm try going to the dentist and tell him or her about the gaps and that it is bother you but you don't want any dentures. i am sure he/she can help you and knows what to do about it. you should go to one that you know because it might be expensive, maybe you can get a discount. yeah i try to take care of them. even when i was small, i remember when i was 8 or 9, i just go to the dentist and have my teeth get checked and adjust my retainers alone. heheheheh. hmmmm i wonder if some 8 or 9 year old children these days can do that too hehehhe whenever my boyfriend sees me eat chocolates, he tells me to brush my teeth right after i eat hehehhe he always looks out for me.

How old is your stepdaughter? I don't have false teeth till now, although I have two of my wisdom tooth extracted. All my other teeth are still fine. My other siblings are now using false teeth and they have it changed or added a few after years. I found it interesting when my siblings brush their teeth while whistling

I fortunately still have all my teeth, well except the ones I have had pulled..But I have no fake teeth in my mouth,But I remember when having tooth pain a few years ago it was bad and all I kept saying it I swear mouth pain has to be the worst pain ever and I wish I could just get all my teeth pulled and get dentures..Well,My sister is only two years older then me and I'm only 26 she had that same thing done to her and she doesn't like them as much as she thought they would she says they hurt the bone in the roof of her mouth they rub up against it.. So I dont know from experience but I'm pretty sure taking them out nd cleaning them everyday would get tiring BUT its the same as brushing your teeth everyday if you still had them.. Its annoying but if you want a healthy looking smile you must take care of them...Also, dentures I hear cost WAY to much to not take care of them haha.

hi. it's been a long time that we haven't cross our ways here. lol so how are you doing now my friend? good to hear about you teeth. there's really a lot different having false teeth from having real teeth. but i guess, it's also the same way of cleaning them both, only that the one should be something like, wash and wear.
