I cannot sleep quickly

Hi friends, Really sleep is the god's gift for humans...i didnot get sleep after i go to bed.I dont understand why..anybody can tell me a tip or trick to get sleep quickly..i tried reading books, listening to music etc..

Well I have the same problem when I am anxious about something. Have you considered of being anxious about something?

That differs in each person but the main message is to find something to do that will make more calm and making it easier to sleep. Watching some tv or doing anything on the internet could be a solution or even reading a book or solving a crossword/sudoku or something :)

May be you are right..when we think or worry about something..we cannot able to sleep..but how to stop our mind from thinking and anxiety??

Do you drink a lot of caffeine before you go to sleep? Do you eat a lot of carbohydrates (or any kind of food) before you go to sleep? How often do you exercise? Is your schedule messed up? (IE - stay up late, sleep in..) There are a lot of different things that can cause it. I would avoid eating or drinking anything before going to sleep. Although sometimes some caffeine-free warm/hot tea helps me sleep. Reading also helps me sleep though. People say that you should avoid watching TV/going on the computer before you go to sleep, as that can cause insomnia. I have found that I also sleep a lot better after I work out - do some kind of cardio exercise and see what happens. Best of luck to you...

Maezee..even coffee and carbohydrates are not enough to keep sleep off my eyes. I have to get up and walk if it comes to that..in fact, coffee makes me more drowsy..

I like a nice hot shower and then dinner and before I know I am dozing..lol At 52...it doesnt seem right..I mean by this age people become insomniacs. I am exceptional. You tell me to sleep anytime, I would pass off..:)

Have you ever tried exercising and showering before bedtime. Working out supposedly gets your muscles and your body going and followed by a nice warm bath relaxes the body. Some months ago, I was recommended a Nerve food tonic and a sleep medication called "sleep aid" it was highly recommended by a friend of mine who's a pharmicist. Since I've been using it, I've suffered no side effects and it was recommended because it's basically a herbal remedial method to sleep. Maybe you can check it out.

what is the name of Nerve food tonic which you said?? is it herbal medicine?? prepared from herbal extracts..yes usually if it purely herbal it will not give any kind of side effects..

Try focusing on you breathing and nothing else. You can even think of "1" while you breathe in and "2" when you breathe out. You can count sheep as we've seen in cartoons :). Relaxing without thinking about anything could be the fastest way to fall asleep.

Don"t hesitate to try old tricks to make yourself sleepy. You can try drinking milk before going to bed, or even doing quick exercises to tire yourself out. If still ineffective, try to consult your family doctor, for it may be a case of Insomnia. It doesn"t hurt to be a more careful.

You can read your Bible until you are sleepy. You can also pray and talk to God until you feel sleepy. It feels nice, before you go to bed God is the last one you talked to and when you wake up, He is the first one you talk to.

I suggest you to do something that makes you sleepy or bored. Usually when I watch television after awhile, my eyes start to get heavy then I just fall asleep.

whatever the remedies you use, just go for the best and it is one and only natural herbal remedies.Moreover this is the era of machine and most of us engage to do things with its.So try to do physical workout which obviously help you to get sleep well after the day long workout.
