Rhyming is very important to me. Also the use of words. Read a lot of short stories and dictionaries to expand your vocabulary. Also, a good song relates to other people about what they've been through. Like telling your own story and allowing them to related and understand. Good luck though.

I have written a song for a school band last year. the song's about the pain I got from loving someone. I think, you should write about things that make you happy or sad, things that you can relate. If you are brokenhearted, then write what you feel. It's just like making a poem. It's actually a poem. You don't need to use rhyming words, freestyle is ok.

I have a similar problem and am trying to do the same thing...seem to have writer's block lately. I have found that if I am 'quiet' enough, inspiration comes to my mind. One special tip I have for you is to drive in complete silence. No radio, no phone nearby and your brain will race for a couple minutes of things to think of, but then will calm down. I have written 3 or 4 songs this way...the trick is, when you stop or get where you are going to write it down or have a recording device with you so you don't forget it once you go back to the noisy world! Good luck!

First things first, you have to write about something that is passionate and you care about. You can't write about dogs if you have no expierience with dogs. Try thinking of one line that describes how you feel about something, then build a line that rhymes with that. Do that multiple times and you'll find that as you're reading it, your voice sort of just starts to say it to a tune, if you don't like the tune, try to read it a different way. Pronounce things in ways you don't normally pronounce them, instead of saying "pa-tay-toe" say "pa-tah-toe". Hope this helps you!
