Listening to Nature's Music

I had a music lesson with one of my students today, and decided to change it up a bit and go outside instead of having her work on the piano for 30 min. straight. I asked her to walk out to different areas of the yard and pavement and describe to me the sounds that were being produced when she walked on the different areas. For example, she stated when she walked on grass she heard a 'crunching' sound. We should all be aware of the different sounds in nature. What nature sounds did you hear today?

Every morning, I will be woken up by the birds'tweeting sound. It's a kind of beautiful alarm clock melody. And once I heard of a saying that people who hear the first sound in the moring the bird singing, he will be lucky for a whole day. I think it means a good start with a beautiful mood.

What a beautiful way to wake up in the morning! My brother has a tree that houses wild parakeets by his window. He liked them at first, but they can be kind of screechy at times. Glad your birds are a little more melodious!

I always want to listen to natural (not recorded) nature music going around me but I can't seem to do it without the pests pestering me. :|

It is hard to listen in when a trail of ants have found your snack or possibily your feet as a nice little hill to adventure over! I find that if I am purposefully going out to listen to nature's sound I find a nice bench or really big rock or boulder to keep the little creatures on the ground. Also taking slow walks helps, but remember if you go by a lake, remember mosquitoes are going to try and catch a ride!
