Facebook is something that you can use to share your life with friend. It use status update and picture to show the world what are you doing now, what are you thinking, what your dream, etc. Some time i see a few of my friend make a fake status update. It is usually happened when they want deceive their friend, partner, wife, etc. For example, when my friend go to interview with other office, they make status update, "Sick in bed" so all of his co-worker and boss think he is really sick, when he is actually interviewed in other company. Other try to deceive her wife by updating "WORKING LIKE CRAZY" when they actually go to a cafe with friend. Do you have a friend who do thing like this? Or do you ever do thing like this? What do you think about this? Thanks for sharing my friend.

i was actually never write fake status, i have experience about writing my dream, in my status, it sound like " i wish i wash rich like "susilo(name of my boss' partner)" i would do flying my helicopter around the city, anywhere i like"... and in the next day may boss called me angrily, i don't know why he was so angry about i included his partner name in my status, then i got penalty because of it. for now i rather not write any status in my facebook, and if i make status, sometime its fake, like your story, when i was had an interview, i said i was in government office updating new ID. sometime we could not express what we feel. even i really express what i feel.

Well you actually could express your feeling, just make sure to set who can view your status to people you really want to share. The wise thing is, don't ever share anything that had nothing to do with office business with your boss or office mate ( off course you can exclude a close friend that are also an office mate ).

Well i don't think you should block your boss. It might offend him because people usually feel angry when some one block them or simply un friend them. You should set a custom group where those group can only see your status. So your boss can still see you around, but they cannot see your status update.

yes i already block my boss, even he notice that he couldn't see my facebook again, but of my office mate still in my facebook friend list. so they still know what i feel, sometime they could't watch their mouth, now i only used my facebook just for game and little other think.

Well yes, there are many people who look facebook as a jokes. Making status and laugh at it. But some actually really care about what people write in facebook. So make sure, you have the right friend to share your jokes about. Don't make some strange status that can make people worried about you.

Oh i see, yes, this thing actually happened a lot. Many people making fake status all the time, some for making an excuse, some trying to protect people, some only want to have a good laugh by doing them. I think this kind of status is okay as long it is not meant for cheating people.

its weird status i really dislike the people like that if they did not want anybody knows about their activity, don`t tell it..simple?? last night i get a more weird status.. i had facebook friend which write her status like that " Oh God, please take my life now"... of course many of her friends is shocked and give respond i did not respond.i think she only want everybody take care about her...what a pity..

Status like " Oh God, please take my life now" it's a very stupid status. I hate when people take pity for themselves. Most people like this think that they are the most pitiful people in the world. They always ask "why me why me why me..." The should realize that there are many people in the world who have a more miserable life than they are and still positive about life.

Yes, that is bad. Some people like this, like i said before, is a people who like to pity themselves. They have a life purpose of getting as much sympathy as possible. I don't like this kind of people. They usually very negative, and they usually also drag people around them to be as negative as they are.

I sure have no need to make up lies on Facebook - no point in doing so! I don't know about everyone else, but I do have one friend whom I know intentionally glorifies stories just to make her in laws mad. She hates her sister in laws and mother in law (but I will have to say she has many reasons to), so she has used Facebook to dig into their nerves. Me personally, I think that's a bit immature . . . that's not the way I would handle the inlaws - I don't like playing mind games likes that. Anyway, she brags big time and has some of her other friends beef up their comments to help (admittedly I'm in on that too) - to make herself and her family look as excellent as possible. So knowing this, I don't take her Facebook posts "too" seriously.

Well i don't really like people whose lie in their facebook just to make they look good or to make other people look bad. It is a lie that i think really useless. I don't see what they got when they make other people angry. It just usually lead to a bad thing. Thanks for sharing my friend.

I actually have a friend on facebook who is married. It's not a happy marriage and she truly can't stand her husband over 90% of the time. She has flat out told me she loves him as a father to their children but is not in love with him or love him as a lover. However when you go to her facebook page shes there trying to play 'happy families' almost bragging about her husband. One day I asked her "why are you always acting like that on facebook". Her reply, "because he is my husband", which to her means she isn't willing to answer it honestly with what I believe to be 'trying to be something she isnt'. It's getting to the point I barely speak to her now because ive always said if you can't be yourself, don't be anyone. She doesn't have to put all her 'dirty laundry' on facebook but she doesn't have to constantly act like shes in the best marriage ever. Then I have other people on my friends list doing things similar to what you said in the original post and im just like 'meh why bother lying and if you're that sick why are you on facebook'. I just brush over it as it gets boring to read. Most of my friends list lately though aren't really ones to update their status to constantly have what their doing lately though. So im grateful. Im not a big fan of liars though if they can't be honest or even be themselves why try to be anything. Sooner or later someone will say something to them about being full of it

Well thanks for sharing, sparky3dfan. I think instead of trying to prove they have their best marriage ever in facebook, your friend should try talk it out with her husband. Maybe they should visit a marriage consultant and find solution about their problem. If they have the best marriage ever, then even with out a facebook status to show that, people will realize it.

I think there is a fine line between what you should be inviting the world to see on FB, and what you should keep to yourself. Many people on a daily basis cross this line without disregard and will find themselves in the ill effects of it all when they are caught in the lie later. Personally, I hardly ever update my status,or write things that don't matter much. I know there is always a way for someone to check out that information. Whether it be work, friends, or a stalker, all that information is available to everyone once you type it in.

Well you are right, but most people who write fake status, usually do it with a certain intention / purpose. They try to gain benefit from it. Off course some might find their lie, but as long as the targeted people know nothing about the lie, the fake status has serve it's purpose.
6 Apr 12
I don't like that kind of facebooker, and personally I don't like those people that update their status based on their personal life or problems, like I have one friend on facebook, she always put a status that too personal or bullying someone or saying bad about someone, she's not mentioning the name but it's still offensive on whoever that is.
• Indonesia
6 Apr 12
Oh i see. Well if that the case, maybe you should try butt in and tell her not to do it. It is annoying just to see other bullying people in facebook. I usually said something to a person that i know do kind of that. Off course i do it offline since comment her on the status will only make thing worse.

Yes I too see some of my friends putting up fake status . I never do that . I put up meaningful quotes or if I want to share something with my friends . Many deceit people by this way and I don't support this .

Well not all people who put fake status is a bad person. When my friend was injured, he put a status that he is alright simply because he don't want to make his parent back home worried. I also think, people who go interview for job and make fake status about it are consider wise since it is important for him / her not to get caught or else he / she could get a serious trouble from his / her current company.

I'd rather not put any status update if it is a lie. It will reflect on my character if it is found out. I have a co-worker who sent messages through text that she met an accident. Of course, it wasn't true. It was a prank message because it was April Fool's Day. Some people took it seriously and even went to the nearest hospital inquiring about her safety. When they found out that the message was just a prank, imagine how angry/hurt/shocked those who really took the effort to check up on her.

Well facebook april fool status is already a thing of the past. When facebook start show up, 1st April is fool of fake and lie status. But at time goes on, i almost never see such status in 1st April. Maybe they realize how stupid it is, especially if you could make your parent, family, and friend from far away worried about your safety.

this is a NO-NO for me. Facebook is an avenue to share what people have on their minds, to create friends and to reconnect with loved ones. Facebook is not a place which deceit prospers. Just saying :)

Well yes, fake status is a bad thing for some people. Off course it is not always that bad. Some people have the right reason to make a fake status. Off course, if they do it for cheating or deceiving people then it is bad. Anyway, that is what i think, thank for sharing with us.
