Manic Mondays

Went to follow up Dr appt today at 1:30 and news wasn't really good. I have a large mass (cyst) on my right ovary. And Dr thinks I will need surgery. There is an issue with insurance so they have sent me over to a clinic, but that appt isn't til May. I have a whole month to wait for things along that line. Plus, I have to have some other blood work done and another thing is going on with my thyroid that needs addressing. This day has had a bad start to finish. Dad falling this morning, although he says he is alright. Talk about a manic Monday. :(

I am sorry you have gotten this news. I had a cyst on one ovary back in 1980. I had to wait two or three weeks until I could be scheduled for surgery. The doctor told me then that sometimes another will grow in about a year. If it should in my case he would have to give me a hysterectomy. One did so he did.

I would talk to the doctor about just getting it done.

I have to wait to do it now, as the clinic is only accepting people on the dates they can. The nurse told me this at the other place and I agreed. Right now my dad is sick again with something and my brother is taking him to the Veteran's Hospital where he already had an appt scheduled so will have to see what happens with him as well. Both of us could be in the hosptial at the same time, or right after the other.

I was thinking a hysterectomy for me as well, & even this first time. As I know these things can come back, like they always seem to, ugh.

Thanks laken, and yes I do believe in it. I so appreciate it too. I am very much into religion, I don't go to church but it is in my life in my own kind of way. The insurance wouldn't pay for it all? Gee, that is not right, what on earth are they for then. My cyst is rather large though, I don't even know how long I have had it for. It might have been quite awhile. I'm glad your pap test came out fine, all people are different though. I wish I didn't have to have the surgery. It is worrisome for me, and also the hyperthyroidism is as well. Thanks for the well wishes, it means so much as I don't have a lot of good friends in real life to count on.

I will be trying to, but this wait is killing me too right now, 4 more weeks waiting for just having the consultation alone. Thanks for offering me your friendship, I appreciate it alot. Since they have tried to do one of the procedures they couldn't last time yesterday, they still couldn't get it done but tried. I think I have more pain now from it too a tiny bit. I'm not sure though if it's really from that or not though.

That's not a good start to the week, I agree. I'm sorry you're facing surgery. Maybe you've got all the bad news done and over with, though, so now you can go through the rest of the week with only good things.

Thanks peavey, it just stinks I have no insurance. They are trying to get me into the charity program they have at the clinic there. I'm not so sure it will work though, nothing like that works out for me. :(

Let's hope that it will work this time. Surgery is very expensive!

Yes I am hoping. I dread to think how much it will cost otherwise.

I get cysts that come and go, in strange and unusual places and they aren't skin cysts. What I do for them is take a Vitamin B supplement and they seem to stay away when I remember to take the supplement daily. I have always believed that cysts are due to something I lack or have to much of in my system. Some of us just seem to be more susceptible to them than others. I do a lot of research on natural healing because like you for many years I didn't have insurance. So far it has paid off and many health issues have been countered by using supplements or altering my diet. Sorry to hear about the nasty way this week has started but remember to keep a positive attitude and never allow yourself to believe that things will stay the same all the time.

Vitamin B? What does that do for the cysts? I was thinking extra Vit C or D due to the fact it has a better effect on the immune system sometimes. I didn't know you could get them in strange and unusual places, it's ironic you still get them even with the natural research and natural healing you have been doing.

hi nailtech oh oh the law of three cyst, the may appt and your dad's fall you have had your three bad things so now you just have to have some good things. I have low thyroid but my doctor put me on thyroid medication and I seem to be doing okay. Hope your dad is okay now. I also hope that time flies so it will not be too long for that May appt, This month should just fly by like it does for me. I have had those manic Mondays so can readily sympathize with you.Waiting for medical appts is the pits so hope it does go bye fast..I have to get my diabetic blood work done and keep putting it off, and thats silly as its not painful and my doctor needs the A1C to keep track of how well I am doing on managing my diabetes lol

I think I have had more than three things at once now. The cyst, the wait of the appt in May , Dad's fall and now dad's not feeling well due to his urinary track thing. I don't want anymore to happen, sheesh. He did say his foot is better at least but he still might have it Exrayed. I'm thinking he will be staying at the VA hospital, today. Thanks for the comment.

That is rough. If they are waiting that long, they think it's benign and won't grow too much in the meantime, I hope. I hope your Dad is OK. I hope everything turns out well with the insurance and the operation. That was a lot all in one day. I hope things are going better for you for the rest of the week.

Sounds crazy, it really does. I had my own manic Monday, at work, but now that I'm thinking about it and reading your discussion..Not nearly as bad as yours (I was just incredibly busy, understaffed, and got out late. I guess I should count my blessings!). So are you in a lot of pain with your cyst? I have a family friend who used to get them all the time, however they weren't OVARIAN - they were more like on the outside of the skin. Which I would imagine to be very different than an ovarian one. Sounds painful. Best of luck to you in your situation...

No I'm not in any pain, that is the wierd part. Just some back pain at times especially if I sit here to long. Yes those cysts are different than a cyst on the ovary. Thank you for the good luck wishes.

How's your dad's fall? hope it just a light one and nothing too serious. oh no. i think you should really hurry up and check on the cyst. I believe you should know that it's not safe to leave it there for too long. Hopefully you get things settled soon!

Yea, it never is really good in life for me, things just happen this way for me alot. I have never experienced a whole year where I have felt totally happy with everything going on, last year was OK but still had some worries, etc. Thanks for the happy wishes.
