I've uploaded a few of my pictures from the trip. My husband and traveled by train with my Mom and step-dad, to see my Aunt and Uncle, cousin, and his children, in Montreal. We hadthe BEST time!!! We live in Ontario, but will be back there again (and agai and again) since it's so easy to get there by train. The entire trip was free (except spending money) because we paid for the hotel with Air Miles, and the trian was free because we had CNIB cards, and Mom and Dave paid adult fare, so with their full fares, we could get ours free. It was awesome!!

I'm so glad you had a great time! Did you get to the restaurant you mentioned? How was the weather?

I did get there, SarahRuthBeth. I also posted A LOT of pictures up top in the Montreal interest, if you want to seethem. You'll be happy to know that you didn't miss anything by not having a Facebook, because I was so busy I barely got a chance to post. The only pics I'm not putting up here on MyLot are the ones of Erik's little children. Want to be safe when it comes to kids. You can see the pics in the Montreal interest, and leave your comments. :)
The restaurant...ah the fod was good, but the place was soooo noisy!!!! Not sure we'll be going back there again, becaue of the loud music.
The next night we ate at my Aunt and Uncle's house, and then the night after that we went to a beautiful (AND QUIET!!) little Turkish restaurant. It really sucked that we had to come home. LOL The weather was beautiful!

It sounds like you two need to plan another trip. I'm sorry that the one restaurant was too noisy. And I'm glad the Turkish restaurant was better.

It is great to be able to have fun and travel for little or no cost. I love saving my online earnings and doing great things with it whenever possible. I will be looking for some of your photos and posts that will be up about your trip. I have never traveled by train, but I would like to.

I still need to do videos, but my entire photo album is up on Gather, along with some of my photos up over here on MyLot. I traveled by train a lot in Denmark, but not so much in Canada. Now that I have, i will more often! IT's great.

I'm glad that you had a great trip to Montreal.
I've been wanting to visit Montreal, but I haven't yet had the chance. We've simply been too busy with too many other things to have the chance to travel anywhere. The last trip we took was a few months ago when we made the multi-day trek to move from Florida; at least, we did get to see some interesting sights along the way and enjoyed some good food (I try to seek out small, local restaurants when we travel).

Glad you had a good time.
How long did the train ride take? I remember taking it to Expo '67. We left at midnight, I think, late at night anyway, and spent a few hours on a siding before coming in to Montreal in the morning. Not much fun trying to sleep sitting up. The trip back was in the morning, but I don't remember how long it took.

I'm so happy that you had such a wonderful time in Montreal. Also, you don't have to worry about paying for the trip once you get home because almost everything was free. Most people go on trips but later they have to pay the credit cards. One of my dreams is to go to Canada ,so maybe one day it will become a reality. Good for you, life is too short and we have to enjoy!
