The car I bought in Texas!

A white 2009 Toyota Yaris - I love this little car. Its big enough to take your friends, and small enough to be easy on gas!

We live in Texas in the winter, and Ontario Canada in the summer. This has been our life style for several years- Driving 2000 miles each way, twice a year. However this is getting tiresome, so this winter we bought a car in Texas, and left it there when we drove our other car Home. The new used car is a 2009 Toyota Yaris. Its white and in very good condition, and it cost $10,000 plus tax. It seemed like a lot of money at the time. When we returned home to Canada I found a comparable Toyota Yaris on a car-lot for 3 thousand dollars more. This just made my day! So if you want to buy a good used car cheap, just go to Texas!

Real Estate is lot cheaper in Texas too. My sister lives there and keeps trying to talk me in to moving there, she tells me for what we paid for our house in IL we could have a mansion in Texas. I would like to do what you do some day and have a small home here in IL and a small home in Texas so we can get the heck out of here in Winter. It will really depend where my kids end up though. I have another 10 or so more years though before we can do that, that is if my husband can retire early.

I know it! Both real estate, and the cost of living is lower in Texas, but car insurance is higher because the McAllen area has so many cars, and auto accidents. Lots of Mexicans without insurance, and its said that 600 stolen cars cross the International Bridge at Reynosa and enter Mexico every day.Its very hard to find a stolen car once its driven into Mexico.

hi barehugs wow Texas and Canada. My parents did something similar as they did not think they wanted to live in Arizona all year and loved the farm in s outh Dakota, why I am not sure as they were not young anymore and even in spring and fall theres lots of cold weather and mydad had severe arthritis too.so they did this f or maybe four years and decided finally just to move to Arizona where I was by then and married cause they wanted to be near me and the grand kids.I love your car it looks really great. I have never been to Texas so maybe one day soon as I cannot expect to live to one hundred. lol Canada though is a beautiful country. we vacationed In Calgary a number of years back.

Yes we do have the best of both worlds! South Texas is so hot in the summer you can't go out in the sun. The air-conditioners run day and night, and the electric bill goes through the ceiling, while winter in Canada can be very cold with deep snow so you can't get out without your snow shovel. Yes we love it in Tx in the winter, and Canada in the summer!
