Lawn Aerator Shoe substitute

You know you can see these once in a while in garden shops and catalogs. But really you don't need to buy anything specific for this task. You could use the lil studs you can buy to apply that look to be about the same for dress shoes in winter. Also people when I worked at a sporting goods store would buy new golf shoes and would use their old ones to mow the lawn and aerate it at the same time.

That's a very good idea! I'll have to check around and see is anyone wants to walk across my yard....I imagine the spikes would be just about right for aerating.

I was going to say, anything with spikes on it should work. I have not really thought much about aerating my lawn, but if I found appropriate shoes, I might.

hi 3snugglebunnies yes indeed old golf shoes should work great without the expense of the special shoes. good idea in this horrid economy where every cent we can save will help so much.
